Owner Felipe Flores & GM Pete Denson announced a rebranding of the NL Central Cookeville Gamecocks this afternoon. Stated GM Pete Denson, "We've had a rough few seasons since the move to Cookeville, but we believe we're ready to turn the corner now and have a more competitive team and start making playoff pushes again. With this new era we felt removing the old Gamecock name from our organization was a move that the fans could get behind, besides it's a cheesy looking logo and uniform."
"We're pleased to announce the arrival of the Cookeville Cubs to the NL Central and NDL OOTP League. We look forward to this new brand helping promote our goals of eventually over taking the evil Titans and well, really, we're hoping it helps increase our merchandising income...especially with all the new jerseys everyone will want to purchase with the star power we've recently brought in. "
