Its worth getting just for this...I played hockey in high school, and flirted with it in college, but this is by far my favorite game of all time..just this mode, it's so addicting and if you get a great group of guys togetheer, it can easily use up a whole night without you even realizing it.

If I remember correctly, you can actually do some interseting crosses with online career:

Team Play
Coach/GM
Be a Pro

And mix them all together. Would be a nightmare on paper, but pretty cool. Now if we could get something like that for NCAA...
