He thought Jamarcus would be a good pro too. Lets give him a break. Maybe he is feeling nice this New Year.

Wait, how is that a bold statement?

Obviously we don't know who will be right, but I'm guessing your statement is more bold, or the general conensus is somewhere in the middle.

He'd be the 1st QB off the board if he came out this year, no?

Thats not saying much as its a pretty weak QB class but I understand what you are saying meaning teams would take him with the top pick meaning they believe he would pan out.

Top 5 elite level is that he will have the career of the likes of Manning, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, etc.

That is a VERY bold statement.

Saying he will be a successful NFL QB would not have been bold.

Ouch
With $50,000 on the line, Auburn fan Mark Skiba stuck with his heart and refused to hedge his bet.

Last January, Skiba's father was on vacation in Las Vegas when he placed a $100 bet for his son on Auburn to win the title game at 500-to-1 odds. The team's thrilling finishes against Georgia and Alabama, and a loss by Ohio State to Michigan State in the Big Ten championship game, resulted in the Tigers landing in Pasadena opposite the top-ranked Seminoles.

Skiba's $100 bet would have turned into a possible $50,000 if the Tigers won the VIZIO BCS National Championship. But Auburn lost to Florida State 34-31 in the closing seconds, rendering Skiba's betting slip worthless.

When Skiba went public with his ticket last month, many fans contacted him on Twitter to offer advice. Most told Skiba that if they were him, they would place a sizable bet against Auburn to guarantee a payday.

Skiba had planned on doing exactly that. But as Monday's game approached, he backed off. With Florida State becoming more and more of a favorite, it meant that Skiba would have to bet even more money against Auburn to balance out the action.

So after consulting with his high school buddy, accountant Brian Burnett, who is an Alabama alum, the two made the trip to Las Vegas for the game but decided to let the bet ride.

"I regret nothing," Skiba said after the game. "At the end if the day, I was playing with house money for the last two months. This was not supposed to happen in so many ways. It's the whole experience and the story. That's what I will remember.

To be fair, I also think Rivers and Romo are top 5 level type QBs.

I wouldn't be surprised if he put up Rivers or Romo type numbers consistently.

That was a heartbreaker. The fake punt was the game changer. All the momentum shifted after that. You got to be sound in the kicking game. Missed an easy FG, gave up the fake, and that big return. Dropped that pass on the opening drive that would have likely been a touchdown. Just couldn't put them away, that has been a problem during the season. Really excited for the future though. Good game, Noles.

If Manziel heads to the Jags in the upcoming draft at pick #3, when winston comes out could he be the #1 overall pick

Mel Kiper says if Winston could come out now, he would be the #1 pick. That was before last night's performance.

Btw, very interesting that it appears Red McCombs was against the hire of Strong at Texas. Not sure it's smart to pass off one of your biggest boosters... Called it a "kick to the face"

And I agree w AJ, Mason will be a solid pro. Strong running style and good balance

Mels an idiot.....I think Winston showed he was not ready for a blitz happy team. In truth, Auburn out played FSU in this game, that stuff happens in these bowls.

You could look that the other way too though, and commend him for his ability to adjust to it and play really well in the 2nd half.

This has to be the worse comment in this thread.....did you see the KO return....one guy missed his lane but one guy went down with cramps.

If anything, you as a Coach should realize, blitzing can work wonders. DO you think Winston would hang against some of the better blitzing defense's in the nfl, I'd even go as far to say, some of the worst blitzing teams in the NFL? The NFL would eat this guy up at this moment. He will get better.....But to say FSU just wanted it more is kinda ignorant in my mind, unless you were wanting to rile up our Auburn fans....cause Auburn had the better coach tonight, the better scheme....but it just didn't work out unless you had Auburn +10.5......
