Dimensions should dictate factorscougnix wrote:Sorry if this was already said. Common mistake in determining how field affects stats in ootp is dimensions vs factors. In this game your dimensions could be the most unrealistic you want them to be. If the factors are above 1, it is easier to pad the stats, below 1 it is harder to pad stats. Those factors don’t care if you have 100ft fences and 500 ft fencesGeorgesGoons wrote:Check out the dimensions though. Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
wow, i would like to see this on a bell curve but the top 3 hitters parks are all more hitter friendly than the most pitcher friendly park. and the top 10 hitters parks are more hitter friendly than the 2nd biggest pitcher park.
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
It would be cool if we could overlay all the parks like thisUuaww wrote:wow, i would like to see this on a bell curve but the top 3 hitters parks are all more hitter friendly than the most pitcher friendly park. and the top 10 hitters parks are more hitter friendly than the 2nd biggest pitcher park.

Corey Billy Niddler, jump in here. isn't there an ootp factor generator you can use, but ultimately the factors are entered in and as far as the game itself is concerned height and distance have nothing really to do with it?GeorgesGoons wrote:Dimensions should dictate factorscougnix wrote:Sorry if this was already said. OOTP Ballpark Generator
According to that tool - distance, wall height, field surface, foul territory, and city all have a factor in the overall numbers

Why would our numbers be that far off due to 5 feet difference in the alleys.
There used to be a ballpark factor excel sheet. I used to have it on my old computer, I believe JD sent it to me. Might have been Reign though as well.

Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
I update the excel sheet every time someone changes anything. If you make any changes to distance or wall height the factor updates on the excel sheet. You then need to go in and update the factor in OOTP
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
3' difference in walls all around would be the primary culprit Id assume. Artificial/field turf instead of grass, wind 10mph out to left instead of 10mph in from right, slightly warmer summer

New League Rule: Our roster limits are you may have 163 players in your Organization plus DL and IC guys. In order to start enforcing this there will be a 10 million dollar fine if your organization is not set by opening day each season. I will also periodically check this throughout the season and expect teams to remain under that number and make necessary adjustments after the draft.
Jerry Winebrenner signs a 3 year extension at 8 million per year with Philly

Also, I don't sign older players to long deals, because I'm constantly waiting for the bottom to fall out. So he's been on some pretty short deals recently, but hasn't died yet, so he's backSeeitsaveit13 wrote:He's really oldCnasty wrote:Seems like Winey has signed like 7 extensions with Philly.

Very deep FA crop this year.
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
Joseph Potts rejects 1 year, 14 million twice in september. Says he's no longer willing to talk and wants to become a FA.
He accepted the qualifying offer at 12 mil.

Never put it out this way before, but I'm going to show the Revenue Sharing numbers prior to the FA run, then Opening Day, and maybe again after the trade deadline.
