Some also don't seem to realize they don't have to be a rental, you can resign them.ajalves wrote:more than a few teams inquired about this guy and then didn't think he was worth a 50ish type prospect "for a 3 month rental"

Completely agree with you but ya know, its fine!ajalves wrote:more than a few teams inquired about this guy and then didn't think he was worth a 50ish type prospect "for a 3 month rental"Manny Leyva AL POTW hitting .545 with 4 HRs
for the record I 100% respect the opinion, but I don't agree with it
you don't always get a chance to get in the playoffs or to actually make the WS...gotta take risks IMO

To make sure we're on the same page, I didn't mean you, I meant the person trading for him assumes he's a rental, but he doesn't have to be or that new team.ajalves wrote:fair pointshel311 wrote:Some also don't seem to realize they don't have to be a rental, you can resign them.ajalves wrote:more than a few teams inquired about this guy and then didn't think he was worth a 50ish type prospect "for a 3 month rental"

cant lose 3 of 4 at home to Miami and expect to win the division.
also, Junior Turner and Rudy Taylor are back soon. My 40 overall SPs have done their job.

Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
just put Cuevas in for MVP btw... 8.9 WAR and closest is 7.5.. geez. This is Mike Trout type level of dominance.
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
We are talking about a guy that just slashed .186/.319/.299 in August.shel311 wrote:To make sure we're on the same page, I didn't mean you, I meant the person trading for him assumes he's a rental, but he doesn't have to be or that new team.ajalves wrote:fair pointshel311 wrote:Some also don't seem to realize they don't have to be a rental, you can resign them.ajalves wrote:more than a few teams inquired about this guy and then didn't think he was worth a 50ish type prospect "for a 3 month rental"

Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
Or are we talking about a guy who had an OPS over 1.100 in June/August combined?
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
He had a phenomenal June, but does that make up for a sub 800 OPS for the combination of the remaining months?shel311 wrote:Or are we talking about a guy who had an OPS over 1.100 in June/August combined?

Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
Because there's 162 games?shel311 wrote:How about just look at his season production?dakshdar wrote:He had a phenomenal June, but does that make up for a sub 800 OPS for the combination of the remaining months?shel311 wrote:Or are we talking about a guy who had an OPS over 1.100 in June/August combined?
If he's great in 28 and below average in 134 is that more or less valuable than someone above average for the year?
I think this is an interesting debate.

merry Christmas to all

Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
Random team history question ... for RETIRED NUMBERS, do those players get chosen automatically by the game?
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
Merry Cuevas everyone.
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
Yes. They have a distinct template if done by the game. Some owners have done it themselves and you can tell. It's lame.JayGee wrote:Random team history question ... for RETIRED NUMBERS, do those players get chosen automatically by the game?
My favorite is big bob Kelley, the fattest player in history by far, who has a 3 digit number for some reason
Re: 2068 Season Thread... Cuevas Gets His Crown
I think it was 18 when the game started generating their little blurbs on the page. Other league I'm in, I ended up copying the format and just filling in for self-retired numbers or older retired ones.Uuaww wrote:Yes. They have a distinct template if done by the game.
