Why not reopen if everyone is wearing masks? I know you are not going to get kids with special needs to wear them and even the younger kids. But why not junior high and high school aged kids. If all of them and all of the teachers are wearing masks, why are we not sending them back to class?
There is no way to keep them distanced, there is no assurance that kids will do what they are supposed to. What if 10 teachers decide they have too much risk going to school and potentially getting COVID? In the 20 years I've been teaching there have been 3 or 4 kids that have died while in school and all of them were accidents except one cancer. We have 870 students at my school, they are predicting a death rate is .01%

.01% of 870 is almost 9 kids. Is that acceptable?

This is where your simple mindedness gets in the way. The media and doctors says we all need to wear masks to stop the spread. If EVERYONE is wearing masks in school then there should be no reason for them not to go to school. This is why most people aren't on board with the whole mask thing. We are being told to wear a mask to stop the spread but still want everything shutdown. What is the purpose of everything being shut down if masks are being worn?
Everything that has been done and is being done is to slow the spread so it doesn't overwhelm the healthcare system. Masks alone won't slow the spread fast enough at this point in alot of states to save their healthcare systems if they continue on their current trajectory thus why shutdowns are being talked about again. I don't understand what's so complicated about this concept.

The lastest report has 18 states at serious risk of being overwhelmed. So in order to get them back under control it may require things to be shutdown again. Then when reopening resumes mandatory masks to keep the spread at a manageable level until effective treatments and vaccines come out.

None of that was required on any meaningful level coming outta the March shutdowns thus why the numbers are in the shitter in alot of places.

I also love how naive George is like Americans will wear masks. Like they haven’t bitched and complained this whole entire time. Good luck getting Karen’s to get their little loser kids to wear masks. And teenagers in high school? Lmao good luck.

Simple minded George. Lives in some rural fairy tale and never actually lived in a real city.

I think we would wear masks and the complaining greatly stifled if we had any semblance of a coherent strategy on a national level that was able to drown out all the vodoo doctors on social media but unfortunately that doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Right or wrong, that went out the window the moment Fauci dropped the ball and he lied to Americans(later admitted to lying) when he told Americans not to wear masks because they won't help.

Do people forget there was a world wide shortage in masks and hospitals needed them more than everyone else? Seems like ppl forget that.

Also imagine thinking Fauci fucked uo cause he wasn’t instantly knowledgeable on a new disease.

The same guy who helped with the aids epidemic in the 80s. Some of you are just.

As Mr. Trump and his allies in the conservative media have sown doubt about Dr. Fauci, many Republicans have in fact turned against the doctor. Back in May, a CNN poll found that by a two-to-one margin, Republicans said they trusted the information Dr. Fauci was providing. But on Wednesday, Quinnipiac University released a poll showing that 52 percent of Republicans now said they did not trust Dr. Fauci on the pandemic. Just 39 percent said they did

Is there a bigger group of cucks than republicans?

He didn't fuck up with respect to knowledge of the disease.

He fucked up by being wishy washy going back and forth telling Americans wear masks, don't wear masks.

Pro tip of the day for nick: Look for the context before jumping out for your big gotcha moment, you'll embarrass yourself less. :)

I'm no Republican but it's pretty crazy that you're surprised people trust a guy who says one thing one day then the exact opposite the next day less.

Your'e not even remotely trying to be objective in this discussion, not even a little bit.

Lmaooooooo you’re arguing about the expert in health and diseases of the United States like he’s a twitter follow.

I’ll believe him every single day and twice on Sunday even if he flip flops. He’s infinitely more knowledgeable than me you and every idiot on this site combined.

"I don't regret anything I said then because in the context of the time in which I said it, it was correct. We were told in our task force meetings that we have a serious problem with the lack of PPEs," he said.

Like I said. Worldwide shortage.

Strange way to say it.
In May a CNN poll (well, that's a whole different argument, but we'll move on) said 66.6% trusted him, 33.3% didn't.
Now, 2.5 months later, a Quinnipiac poll says 52% don't.
So 19% of "labeled" sample of different people, have changed their minds. That's before you factor in the typical few % margin of error that most polls run with (that could be either way).

So we're shocked that up to 25% of republicans have changed their opinion?

Other than that time I pointed out early on with COVID how much lower the mortality rate probably actually Fauci was, you told me I was crazy, then I linked you to Fauci saying the same thing I said.

So basically nick will believe Fauci every single day and twice on Sunday except for when it means conceding that Shel was right and Nick was wrong :)
