haha maybe. If shel doesn't get his connection up, I get a sim win there. plus maybe another... Need to win 1 of 2 from Rice and Memphis... doable.

Problem is if shel works out his connection, I have to win out to go 6-6. Which would be fine except then I'd probably make the C-USA championship vs 11-1 UCF/ECU... not likely to go bowling that way haha.

If I do, you're gonna have to update multiple posts in this thread lol.

But don't worry, odds are slim of that happening.

First off, great write up!

Like most coaches in the league, I want to have fun. And I am one that did not schedule my OOC with the mindset of winning the league. No offense to any of the other coaches or schools, but playing someone like Akron or Bowling Green with Ohio State is just not fun to me.
I would rather play a bunch of close games than have games that are not fun for either of us.

And as some of you have mentioned, some coaches I scheduled just because we have built a good rapport in the past and we enjoying playing each other. (Arizona and coach Dealer or Texas A&m and coach Reign)
So I do understand why matchups like Ohio State against an Akron or a Bowling Green sometimes happen if it is someone that you play each season regardless of the teams.

But again, good write up Uuaww. I understand what you are trying to say.
I don't think that most people take into account SOS when they are ranking teams.
I think that most just use the overall records and rank based on that and if you want to rank teams fairly, you simply cannot go by overall records alone.

I like playing guys that I know I have fun playing. But at the same time, if someone I liked to play got stuck with EMU, I'd probably skip them for a season if I had a significantly better team, just because the game wouldn't be fun.

This season was kind of a perfect storm for me at TAMU... the Big 12 was loaded with guys that I like to play and I was still able to fit in OSU, S. Carolina and Tenn, 3 coaches that I enjoy playing against. And fittingly, all 3 of those games were incredibly close going into the 4th quarter. I don't think I've played a league game this season that wasn't enjoyable... including the 2 heartbreakers to SC. (reg season and cup)

if i could get an A+ team and Trendon could get an F team, i'd try to schedule him twice a season

You wouldn't make it to the 2nd game... in a fit of rage, you'd drop 70 on him in the 1st one. :-)

I play bsktblljk every year unless we are in the same conference, another non-BCS coach who I have had great match-ups with. I also try and schedule LSU every year so I can play the for the Tiger Rag. The other 2 games are constantly shifting, played Weasel and Mich State a few times. I tend to like to schedule BCS schools so I can get that big upset.

Undefeated Va. Tech 5th behind two one-loss teams. Interesting.

And great article Uuaaww, appreciate the effort.

lol. So he should line ups cheeseballs in OOC to make the masses happy? You have some kind of hard on for Bama. Newsflash, some guys are REEEEAL interested in winning a video game football league. He isnt one of them. His goal is to keep Alabama. Some people will compromise their gameplay when shits on the line (crunch time in a game), some wont
I do agree with AJ on his points. Also remember there arent too many schools banging on Bamas to play him in the OOC due to the fact its most likely going to be a loss. Not to many people signing up to play him for that reason alone. I schedule Coaches I enjoy playing personally. I like playing Mike, no matter the teams, we always play (minus this year i screwed that up). Your hard on for Bama is pretty funny. Its no different than Mike or Shel (two coaches who win alot of games) trying to schedule people, Im sure they dont have people knocking the door down to play them, because most Coaches know its going to be an "L" on the schedule.

Overall, a very good article UAW. I appreciate you doing it.

Hmmm... I agree, but do have 1 point for disagreement...

If I'm rolling with Oklahoma (A+), then I'd probably avoid setting up a game with Shel / Mike, from a strategy standpoint. That's scheduling a lower team, with extremely talented coaches. At the same time, as team like Oregon (A), I'd have no issue trying to set up a match with Bama. I'd even prefer it. It's a rare opportunity for my A team to add a team to the schedule that is higher rated. I may only have a 35% chance to win it, but I'm not expected to either. So it's worth the risk. (Basically how I felt about scheduling OSU/SC with TAMU... figured if I had a 35% chance, then it was worth it)

Personally I love scheduling shel and LSU. But I also know that I am a rarity in this league as an owner who has ZERO desire to ever play with a team other than Tulane. The upset is the reason for college football! I'm pretty sure I could get Cal one of these seasons, but Tulane is still enticing.

Plus if it weren't from Katrina I probably would have graduated from there.

Never play for anything other than enjoyment. Been in this league for a long time and to be honest, shit like this is why I dislike ever being a "top" team. I care less about about top 25 . Go through all my posts, see if I ever bitch about any of that. My only goal is to keep Bama every year. Winning is a small part of that ( much bigger last Ncaa games now they are an A+). I do my recaps, stats, and have always done excellent on coaches reports.
Ill say this about as polite as I can, but fuck anyone for ever knocking my OOC. First off, if you are knocking my OOC, you think I schedule cupcakes cause I want to win. HORSESHIT. I schedule the people who I like and have played for almost 6 years now. The SEC is a bitch enough with the level of teams and coaches there heaven forbid I play guys who I enjoy shooting the shit with for an hour and not have to worry about win at all cost players for 4 games a year. I played Crowes for years when he had a better team. Played Hoos when he was equal or better while at Boise "Big Run" State.
This is a sim league right? Look at my schedules over the years and tell me that they are any different from Bama's in real life if you want to play that angle. 3 lower teams and a decent matchup for OOC. I have played PSU, ND, VA Tech, Boise all throughout the years. This year, Mizzou who is having just a shit year but is a top 25 team in the game and 3 cupcakes. I find that degrading as shit though to Hoos Gatorbytes, and Beefy who are all good fucking folk to play an A+ team with bad teams and not think twice about playing me.
I am sure its all in fun and everything, but I have seen several posts this season about my OOC and schedule and its just fucking tired.

LOL, I dont get a chapped ass. AJ is upfront. "I aint fucking playing you with sister's of the poor vs Bama" Bama already has a built in 10 win goal, if my goal is only to keep Bama, why the hell would schedule a tough OOC knowing I already have to play an SEC schedule? It doesnt benefit me one bit in trying to keep Bama.
