Can't believe I jumped from 5 to 2 after the win over Texas.

Rematch?!

I pulled in my 3 top recruits already, a 90 speed QB rated 81 OVR as well. Didn't even see his speed till I looked right before I spent the 60 minutes and he committed on site, told him he could have anything he wanted.

Houston takes care of Cincy, as backup QB sets NCAA mark with 700 yards on 70 attempts and 11 total touchdowns (I had 2 qbs out with injuries, my starting RB and lost two WR's all in the first quarter, it was a crazy game, it was close till late in the 3rd. ended up like 75-30 or something.

I just want to jump in here before this gets to out of hand. My goal here is for this OD to not be an arcade style OD. We've adjusted the sliders to make the game more competitive and realistic. I can understand and appreciate a blow out game here and there, but let's keep it as realistic as possible. And again, I just want to put this in before this gets out of hand.

Not sure about everyone else, but my personal feelings on this are these types of games create a recruiting advantage. When that happens the other users have to start playing the same way. Next thing you know it's a race to score 100 points, throw for 10000 yards in a season, etc, etc. now we're playing arcade football and I'm just not interested in that. There are some OD's set up like that and if that's what some of you want then please go to those.

xLiQx, I'm sorry, I'm really not trying to call you out on this I just want to get this put out before every game gets played this way.

I completely understand it is against the CPU, however, is 70 attempts and 700 yards really necessary?

I struggle telling guys to lay off the throttle against the CPU, however, we are not in a lobby competition trying to see who can get the most of something....

So I completely agree with Wasted, 100% that a line has to be drawn somewhere.

Lets get something straight here..I could care less about stats, I haven't led the league in anything while in here, my offense is ALL PASS, ask any of my user opponents, i work the short game, and I mix it up A TON. No reason to just run it up the middle the whole game, it was against the CPU where I work on things, I have had 2 byes already this season, so I took the time to keep working on things, I put my backups in the game in the whole 4th only up 30. Sorry...NOT SORRY I guess?? Want me to just take knees up 30 from now on against the CPU? I would never and have never run it up against a user, and I am not here to "pad" stats, I am here to work on my game, and it's not my fault they coudln't stop me, all my other games have been pretty close this year. So should we as a league right Oregon State for beating NIchols 77-3? We should probably harp on them for not playing "sim" and it not being "necessary". I am not going to defend myself anymore, and I wont do it again, but before you star harping on people about playing the CPU, maybe you should think about the big picture.

No one's asking you to take a knee xLiQx. Just bring it down a notch. I sent you a PM discussing this more so we wouldn't have to have these kinds of discussions here on the board, but apparently that's what's going to happen anyway. I, nor should anyone else here, expect you to temper your game for CPU. However, with that said, a line needs to be drawn somewhere. Bottom line really is this is my OD and I want to establish one that is fun for everyone but still follows close to "sim" without having all the rules in place that we have for the NDL. All I have done is asked everyone, for the second time, to keep it closer to the realistic side than the arcade side. The occasional big blow out like this is going to happen, but I knew I needed to step in and say something now before it starts getting out of hand again.

If everyone see's guys putting up these numbers they know they're going to have to do the same in order to be competitive for the awards and recruiting. Those that can't keep up quit and I don't want that.

Now, for the sake of good sportsmanship, blah, blah, blah, let's all just let this go and follow the guidelines that have been established for this OD.

First off, chill out.

I was not saying you did anything wrong.
In fact, Wasted and I had a conversation on aim yesterday and I told him it is really hard to ask guys to throttle it against the cpu.

All I was asking is if 700 yards was necessary.
And 70 attempts seemed like a ton, but I do understand if passing is all you do each game that you will have close to that.
I will have 50 or more if you combine passing and rushing attempts, so I understand.

But if I am being honest, it sounds like you have a bit of a guilty conscious.
All I was doing was asking if it was necessary. If you would have simply responded with the first part of your post about how you work on things and play the short game and never run it, I would have understood.

When you go on with the other stuff, you are trying to defend your actions, which for the record, were not needed.
Again, no one went on to criticize you, I was simply asking a question.

Again, relax, it is an OD where we barely ever play other humans. Let's not let this blow out of proportion.

haha daw. No, again, I'm not singling anyone out or anything like that. We had a few games last year that were a little crazy and after some discussion with some of the guys we ultimately determined we didn't want an arcade style OD, which is why were playing around with the sliders this season in hopes of creating a little more difficult game for us. Blowouts are absolutely fine, they're going to happen and everyone's cool with that I believe. We're just trying to avoid the gaudy stats. I honestly don't care if everyone has a game here or there where it happens, this was just an attempt to step in and make sure it's not an every week occurrence, that's all.

I wish I could dominate every team like I did against Cincy in the second half haha, would make for an easy seaosn, but the first half was a blast too,c ause it was a slugfest.

Purdue should be getting their game in this evening. I'm going to get a hold of Sudden and krg and see if they plan on playing since they haven't played their last two games. I will also get a hold of those of you who have not set to advance/recruited (crowes & niddler) yet and see if you can knock this out this evening. If so I will advance later tonight.

I will look again tonight at recruiting as I suck at it. If you advance before 7 pm cst I am fine with it. but if you have not advanced I will do some more recruiting. Not that it will help. I dont know the secret to it.

Sort of like scoring points over 100 and hanging 85 on another team. :?
