And technically, the 2 times it didn't work, I didn't have it on.
How often are you getting pulled over????? Good lord
Looks like about once per year.
Last one was about 4 months ago on the way to work. 51 in a 40.work badge, got out of it.
time to invest in one of these:
Even if you don't plan on speeding they will alert you so you pay attention to how fast you are going. I watch people get tickets all the time. I'll be cruising along and my detector goes off and people just fly right on past me without a clue that they are being clocked.
If you get one make sure it is a good one. Escort or Beltronics. Don't waste your money on anything else.
A radar detector?? really?? Don't waste your money. Those things are worthless. By the time it goes off, they've already got you.
sorry autiger and SHELDON BUT ORACLE IS ON THE MONEY HERE! OLD BEEFY RAN THE HIGHWAY'S (I-96) & M-59 FOR MANY YEARS. I LIVED IN A SMALL TOWN SOUTH OF LANSING MI AND WORKED IN PONTIAC MI, 7 DAY'S A WEEK I HAD A 86 MILE COMMUTE ONE WAY. WE GOT REAL TIRED OF THE LONG DRIVE REAL FAST. SO EVERY F'N DAY FOR YEARS WE HAULED ASS TO AND FROM WORK. WE WERE RUBBER DUCKING WITH (CB'S) HIGH POWERED CB'S AND RADAR DETECTOR'S. THEY FUCKING WORK PERIOD. I RAN WITH BELTRONIC'S . TOP FLIGHT EQUIPMENT. A HIGH END RADAR DETECTOR WILL PICK UP A RADAR WAVE AT A LONGER DISTANCE AND GIVE YOU LESS FALSE HITS. NEVER GOT A SPEEDING TICKET USING ONE. FUZZBUSTERS WERE BULLSHIT. Then you are a bigger moron. Nothing good can come from speaking to a police officer. It won't always go badly, but it will NEVER be a good thing; their job is not to help you, only the municipality. And, as is everything with government, a large majority of the things you do run counter to the goals of the cop's employers.
Ask yourself this, have you heard the following sentence come out of another man's mouth: "Oh good, the cops are here."

Possible NSFW language in here. had to mute it after a point
Same shit, different day. If this guy weren't just an ABC cop, he would have arrested the video taker, too.

I don't know if this video or case has been posted before, but this is truly sickening. And I'm not a cop hater, more of a system hater that lets shit like this go unpunished.
Two cops found not guilty on Monday, third cop had the charges dropped after verdict.
The meat of the video starts at the 14:39 mark. NSFW, probably. It's disturbing language wise, especially his pleas for them to stop and calling out for his father.

Jesus. I love the phrase "stop resisting" when all the people around said the guy was motionless. That's clearly just a cover-up phrase so that the audio would make it sound like he was resisting.

I saw that video a long time ago. It haunted me for a long time. How anybody could stomach doing that to another human being.....

It will certainly be an interesting day if all of the cards in my life fall into place and I end up having to defend a cop. What will I tell myself?

I admittedly only skimmed through it all, but what the heck was the evidence in favor of the cops?

There was none. The jury bought the argument that he was "resisting" arrest by six officers, and that their force was justified. They also bought that he died not from the beating, but from an undiagnosed heart ailment.
This should scare all of us, tbh.
The jury bought the argument made by the prosecution that a prostrate and unarmed Thomas posed a threat to six armed police officers, which as William Norman Grigg highlights, now means that any meager form of resistance against sustained violence metered out by police officers is justification for murder.
“John Barnett, the police union attorney who represented the killer cops, insisted that the beating was an appropriate response to Thomas’s pathetic, doomed struggle to save his life, writes Grigg, adding, “The jury validated the argument that the act of resisting such criminal violence is a capital offense worthy of summary execution.”
As the gf said last night....it's amazing how not many people are really upset about this, but the guy from Duck Dynasty gets suspended and millions talk about it, sign petitions, etc. It's sickening.

Most of the general public, who make up our juries, are really, really, dumb. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during their deliberation, Im sure it was cringe-worthy
EDIT: That comes out harsh. My point is more that most of us dont have a fucking clue what we're talking about in most cases

The whole "jury of your peers" thing has always been completely baffling to me.

I don't know if I can embed this video, but here is the link.
Video: Police Shoot and Kill Man as He is Surrendering
This is on the other side of the State. Spokane is the 3rd largest city in Washington, but the demographics are completely different than Seattle.

There is no where near enough information to pass judgement from that video.
And cannot embed it if it is not a youtube video.
We have no idea if there was a standoff. If the guy fired at the cops earlier.
We just do not know, so from that video, there is just not enough proof to prove either way if the cops were right or wrong.
The people recording the video have no clue. They say just for walking out the door, but the story talks about it being an armed robbery.
So we have no idea if the guy killed someone when he robbed the house or what the hell went on.

Oh I know, first thing I thought of when I saw it.
