uuaww was helping me, but he's pretty useless... so i come to you all for guidance. i've never been to Europe so this is all going to be new to me.

i'm flying:

Miami to Amsterdamn
Amsterdamn to Mt Kilimanjaro

then on the way back i fly:
Mt Kilimanjaro to Amsterdamn

then Paris to Miami

so basically i have 7 days to figure out what to do between landing in Amsterdamn and getting to Paris and i'm looking for thoughts from you guys on where to go. i don't want to travel too much so its gotta be reasonable and i want to spend probably at least 2 nights in Paris.

I don't think you can land an airline on Kilimanjaro. I've felt the rains there. That's nothing that hundred men or more could ever do. Try landing in Dar es Salaam and taking a bus to the mountain instead.

I guess Im an old man but after the wedding craziness and all the planning leading up to it, I did not want to do anything but relax on my honeymoon for 7 days. You guys are adventurers!!

7 days doesnt seem like enough time for all these places as well as travel time in between to really enjoy a honeymoon and that relaxing time.

Thats the only advice I can offer as I have never been to Europe but Ive heard from people that have and say anything less than 2 weeks is a waste with how much you travel on trains and crap taking almost whole days.

Enjoy!

my honeymoon is a month after my wedding so i'll be relaxed by then, hopefully

all those places in europe i named are going to be within a couple hours by train. i was thinking i was going to do 1 day in Amsterdamn since i fly in there, 1 in Brussels, 2 in London and then the last 3 in Paris. not even sure if i want to do that much, might skip Brussels depening on the things i hear about it.

i just wasn't sure if anyone with more experience in that part of Europe had any cool spots they highly recommended.

I feel like this needs further explanation.

Also, not that it wouldn't be cool to see the sights in Europe, the only place that ever really caught my eye as a place I'd want to visit is Italy, and seeing places like the Colloseum and the Pantheon, and a few of the cities.

I'll add doing anything involved with Warriors to my list of things I wouldn't want to do on a vacation.

In all seriousness, you might want to consider adding Istanbul to your list. There's some pretty amazing sights to see there and it will be a good way to shorten your hop over to Africa. Istanbul has the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace, and the Hippodrome not to mention its where Europe and Asia meet so that's kind of cool too. Plus they are all within a mile or two of each other so you can make it a nice little one or two day stopover. Just be sure to not try and smuggle hashish out of the country. I don't think the Turkish prison system has changed a lot since the Midnight Express days.

The Blue Mosque:

The Hippodrome: This is where a monstrous Ben-Hur type horsetrack once stood. You can see where the track once was in the second picture below. It's most famous for being the site of a massive slaughter of 30,000 protestors who were threatening to overthrow Emperor Justinian in the days of the Byzantine Empire. He lured the protestors into the Hippodrome to address their issues and have a "talk" only to unleash his soldiers on them once they were in the stadium. Plus he married a former stripper named Theodora who may have been even more dastardly than he was. He was a pretty cool guy. Now it's kind of the tourist hub of Istanbul.

i wanted to Peay but alot of my honeymoon had to do with what flies into and out of Mt Kilimanjaro airport.

Amsterdamn is really the only spot so i had no choice other than to make that my first european city after africa. so i'm basically in Amsterdamn to start and Paris to finish and i haven't planned anything in between yet... thats why i'm looking at places like Brussels, London, etc because they are all close by for quick train trips.

i really would appreciate any insight on that area of Europe, i know you're a big history guy.

different strokes for different folks.

probably nothing i'm more excited about on the entire honeymoon than our walking safari with these dudes and then learning how to throw some spears.

have you picked dates yet? I can take a look if their is any festivals or events going on in that time frame. Also to all offering advice, Dave likes experiences over seeing sites.

Oh and I've switched my African vacation to Uganda I think Dave, I want to go Gorilla tracking.
