DMZ the PS3 with a Static IP

Post by NCAA Dynasty League »

1. type 192.168.1.1 in address bar of your internet browser - a box should come up

2. in password type admin (or type in your username and password for your router) - should take you to a screen in my case Linksys with several tabs

3. click on gaming and app

4. Click on DMZ

5. Click so that it is Enabled

6. Change your IP address last set of digits to 250 ("192.168.1.250")

7. Save change in settings

8. Bring up Command Prompt - click start then all programs then accessories - a window should pop up

9. type ipconfig/all - should get a bunch of #s

10. write down subnet mask, default gateway, dhcp, and dns servers - u will need these #s for the PS3

11. ip for the PS3 will be 192.168.1.250

12. Turn on PS3 and go to internet connection settings

13. Select Wireless or Wired

14. Tab over on WLAN Settings

15. Tab over on SSID

16. Tab over until u get to security

17. Select what ever you have for security if you have any

18. Tab past key

19. Select Custom

20. Put in the #s your previously wrote down

21. MTU = auto

22. Do not select Proxy

23. Enable upnp

24. MTU = auto

25. Save Settings and Run Test

26. should give you type 2 NAT

Sounds like an IP conflict. This is when your computer has the same IP address as your PS3. Go back into your PS3 and change the last digits of the IP to something else. Go into your router and change the DMZ addy to match your new PS3 addy. Test everything.

yup..hoos is right..you're having ip conflicts AND we need to bridge your modem (basically we need yoru modem to just pass the signal to the router and let the router do the work...the modem is doing to much filtering and is not as easy to prgram as the router.

It's all easier than it sounds

aim me if you catch me around and i'll walk you through it

if you have issues and cant aim me, call me 3522086274 and I'll help *unless im sleeping, working or fucking

Alright, i'm having problems again connecting to a few people. I even went direct and didn't have any luck connecting up with pounddarock. After entering everything manually, and I believe I did it correct, i am still getting a NAT 3 connection. What else can I look into to get this NAT 2 connection that I need?

Not sure of any other way to get NAT 2...

You may already have done this but when you go direct...Turn off router and ps3 both..connect cable from router to ps3. Turn on router, let it boot up. Then turn on your ps3. Simple steps, which you probably already know, but just in case you didnt.

Going direct, you should be good to go. Our connection today was just fine.
