well, you must be throwing on first down to see it. IF an opponent is throwing regularly on first down, I dont see anything wrong with playing the pass. IF you as an offense notice this, maybe try to run it a little.

yeah, but its about playing the game as is. not trying to get an advantage because of how the game is made.

its penalizing passing teams as oppose to running teams, having one and not the other is just plain stupid just cause some people don't like it. I say if we ban one, ban the other. Moderation is the key to everything.

its a matter of taking advantage of the game. The game works like this: you can pass commit even if it is a run and not get burned by it to often at all. At least not enough to make a difference throughout the course of the game. Its a cheap tactic and I guarantee to you it was done knowing the run isnt effective consistently enough to worry about it.

ahh well i didnt realize that heart, about the aggressive secondary, ,that must be it, and I stand corrected. I usually always play aggressive or conservative, for that setting depending on my team. And never normal i ll admit cause normal as said somewhere your guys do nothing and just stand there.

I'm not a fan of any of it, let the guys behind the sticks win and loose the games. People combine blitzes with the defend the pass feature with show blitz...its like a chemistry project to some guys...always looking for that edge. Hate it.

I wish RUN commit was allowed and not pass because nobody in this league does anything but run drags and crosses and five yard outs. Nobody. If we allowed run commit, I'd hit it EVERY.SINGLE.PLAY because I know nobody is throwing it even remotely deep and I can cover both bases with one swipe of the stick.

THIS is really my only issue with pass commit. It's 100% accurate.

I wouldnt mind it so much if when my opponent used it..his LB's and Db's got destroyed on a run play because they were back pedalling COMMITING TO THE PASS.

anyway, as always...comes down to moderation.

Last thing I will say for AJ and others is I consider my game pretty str8....but if you are not using aggresive on the pass defense subsection (man ANd Zone)....you're not even playing the same game as most people in the NDL.

I've noticed that EA fucked that one up BIg TIME...as when you are aggresive there...IT ACTUALLY PLAYS NORMAL! OR how it should play on normal.

If you're leaving that on normal 100% of the time...by the time season 18 rolls around you'll be smashing your ps3 into a wall.

That being said for anyone else reading this...again..MODERATION. dont leave it on the whole damn game.

I use pass commit on obvious passing downs, and don't touch the conservative/normal/aggressive settings. If you want to call that cheesy, have at it. There's a counter to everything in this game.

I'm in favor of everything being set to normal. This shit of pressing a button and then suddenly you have coverage, a big pass rush, a running back that can break tackles, is just idiotic. It takes the skill right out of the game.

Totally agree. It pretty much ruined this version for me when guys over use certain things. The game becomes NBA Jams on the gridiron.

dude, its 100% the reason you and Aj had the seasons you did.

i could totally tell you werent using it and turned it off vs you (lol, of course i realzied that after i had a lead)

when you goto the screen where you set "aggressive/normal/conservative"...you can hit left and right for offense or defense.

Once on either, you can then scroll up and down and pick only certain parts of the offense or defense.

there's like 6 things

1 of them is how your guys play in man coverage, 1 is how they play zone.

in man they stay closer to the wr, but "whiff" more often on deep balls and 1v1 coverage.

in zone....your safties actually play where they are fucking SUPPOSED to play and dont do that drop back where they're covering a zone 40 yards downfield leaving the underneath so wide open.

consequently though, it leaves deep posts and slot streaks open for big plays

THAT, ea actually did a pretty good job of establishing a point and counter point.

i cant remember what the others are cause i never use them (except big hit sometimes too)

but yea..if you aint using them at least occasionally, you're playing a different version of the game

I think 90% of us are in favor of that but the problem from a management standpoint is how do you monitor that?

You cant. You'd open up a can of worms of people accusing others of using features...and if you're playing someone and their HB breaks a few tackles its the 1st thing you're gonna think....then how do you manage that for 120 guys?

good in theory but not practical.

lets just hope EA leaves this part off next year

I hear ya, but the features being talked about here are easy to spot when used. If you have everyone sign up for the season showdown it will show every time they pass commit and it is defended.

Totally agree it is impossible to see "big run" or any of the other ones. I guess you HOPE if we install something along those lines, the NDL has a great group of guys and the honor system would be counted on even more than before.

Very hard to police though, agree with that.
