In my opinion, the DS3's analog sticks don't provide enough resistance so it is hard to be precise when aiming. I do prefer the DS3 to the 360 controller in all other aspects though.
Any tips on aiming?
I don't think this game will threaten CoD much as it is a completely different ball game. Battlefield 2 just might, however.

Who makes the DS3?
Sony...
Really? Wikipedia would disagree with you...
A Digital Signal 3 (DS3) is a digital signal level 3 T-carrier. It may also be referred to as a T3 line.
bought MAG today to give me something other than CoD to play. I'll give a little review once ive played it a little bit. I dont expect it to be better than CoD, but I just needed to play something different. Does anybody else have it?
So after playing it for a bit, here are some thoughts/info:
-You choose 1 of 3 private military corps. Valor (modern), S.V.E.R. (picture the militia from call of duty), or Raven (streamlined, more advanced). I chose Valor, so i am stuck with that group until i level all the way up. If one of you were to buy the game and choose Raven, we could not play together. Yeah, that really sucks.
-Confusing as hell when you first start. Theres so much going on that I hardly know what the hell to do. Hopefully when i play a little bit more ill start getting the hang of what im actually supposed to do objective wise.
-Controls arent the greatest. Not nearly as tight as Call of Dutys controls, which makes it difficult to play considering ive been playing CoD for 2 months. The controls are a lot heavier than CoD's, but upping the sensitivity might improve that.
-Unlock system is completely different than Call of Duty. When you level up you are given skill points in very small increments. You can use these to buy new guns, abilities, grenades, etc. After only 3 purchases (a new sniper scope, a holographic sight, and an mp5k) I find myself regretting the purchases. This is what I like about Call of Duty...i dont have to make these tough decisions.
-In all honesty, the guns suck. Like they are terrible. The sniper takes 2-4 hits to kill somebody (my normal has been 3) and the scope you start out with is absolutely terrible. You cant hold your breath so your dot is always moving....subtly, but still moving which makes it difficult. the one assault rifle you start out with (I chose Valor so I have the m4) is no good until you unlock the holographic sight. The recoil is way overdone, and shooting from the hip is ridiculously inaccurate.
-WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON. There will be times when you are getting hurt or you get killed and you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what happened. Possibly poison gas, possibly a vehicle, possibly a turret, or maybe some random explosion that has killed me multiple times. I still have yet to figure out what the hell it is. The games are pure chaos with all the players. I have played 256 player games, 128 player games, and 64 player games. The maps are absolutely huge and I dont see how anybody could ever memorize them.
Final verdict: At the moment...dont buy, dont rent. Call of duty has it beat in every area except for number of players.

Sorry, I was going to comment on this and forgot. There are a variety of ways to spawn. There are 2 spawn points that you are always able to spawn at. Spawning at these can take anywhere from 1 second to 20 seconds. I usually find myself having to wait around 15 seconds, which is infuriating. You can also choose to drop in from a parachute (sometimes). When you choose to do this, you have to wait for the plane to fly overhead (many teammates drop at the same time). This takes anywhere from 5 to 20 seconds. If your team is holding a bunker, you can spawn there. If your team has a tank driving around, you can spawn in the tank. If you are in the process of choosing a different class as time runs out or switch spawn points at the last second, you have to wait the full 20 seconds. This, too, is infuriating.
