NDLH Season 2 info
Re: NDLH Season 2 info
I would say no more than 5 keepers. Not many would reach that anyways but some guys may want to keep core players instead of the big guns, and simply replace their big guns in the draft.

Which is why Dave brought in the "average" salaries thing:
For example, Wall's salary could be 5.53M (without option years) or 6.75M (with option years); Jackson's salary would be 9.257M over lifetime of his deal; Curry's would be 2.91 without options; 3.33M with team options; or 3.825M with all options.
Those three alone (if Dave includes all option years into salaries) total 19.832. I'd get a 1st round pick and then nothing again until the 5th round, at which point getting a player as good as Patterson would be difficult. So even though I'd get to keep three guys AND get a 1st round pick (which doesn't even guarantee I'd get a player who went in the original first round, since many will be kept), I'd basically end up with a team (overall) similar to the one I have now. Or I could let Jackson go; replace him with a player in the first round; and then keep Wall/Curry/Patterson; draft again in the 4th round (get a mid 70s player), and again in the 6th round, keep McGee (7th), and draft 8-12....and would again have a team similar in ratings to the one I have now.

Re: NDLH Season 2 info
i posted earlier that its the average over the life of the contract
Re: NDLH Season 2 info
You're posting their salaries for this season; Dave is averaging out the lifetime (or is it just last/this/next year?) of their deals, which is a fair way to do it; the big stars will get paid about even across, while the younger guys get back-loaded deals, so it takes away the advantage of keeping young superstars).

this isn't exactly true...Wade goes from 14 mil to over 20 mil in his last seasonjsence2 wrote:

that's my point--most "max deals" are going to look like that, but the differentiation is about 10-15% annually (goes up about a 1 to 1.5M a year); and most of those max deals will be level on average (about 15-18 million for those players like Kobe, Lebron, Wade, etc); whereas most of these rookie deals are low front end, but then have huge "option" years (like Wall is at 5 mill now, but his last option year is 9.7 million, which is almost a 50% increase).

Not really; I can do my team in about ten minutes. Everyone gives a list of who they'd like values on to keep; that would take maybe 5-10 minutes per list.

i dont mean this to you personally.... just thinking aloudDaw1git wrote:sounds like alot of work
people will bitch about anything.
how fuckin tough is it to look thru 10 people on your roster and say, i want to keep him and him then look at their salaries and see if the avg of those guys is under 20.
its fucking unreal how complicated people are trying to make this when its incredibly simple.
again for the 300th time. i'll take care of it and hold everyones hands to make sure it works properly

I couldn't agree more.DRiccio21 wrote:because i'm trying to have a sense of continuity in the league.Talented wrote:How bout we just redraft all together? The first one did go pretty smooth.
rather then one season Shel is New Orleans and has Chris Paul then the next season he is Chicago and has Kobe Bryant.
i want to have guys that are tied to cities and have their 'franchise' type players attached to it.
I'm also assuming with the $20mil cap to retain players, guys like Kobe and KG can still be retained even though they're making in excess of $20mil?

Re: NDLH Season 2 info
just my 2 cents on the limit of keeping players...i think you should be able to keep as many players as you want in your $20 mil cap...some people might want to keep their big 1 or 2 guys where as another person might want to keep their role players/bench players, either way it will make things interesting

Re: NDLH Season 2 info
It appears that I have just enough room to keep Paul and Ilyasova, so I'm good to go. Ily is my homeboy!!!
