Re: Season 2 Rosters
With the lockout still looming, the Lakers used the extra time to seal the deal on a blockbuster trade. This swap had a huge impact on the initial plans for the rotation. Formerly, the Lakers were a very well rounded team, who's rotation went as many as 11 deep. Today's events have certainly changed the style of play that will go on in LA this season.
STARTING LINEUP:
PG - D. Rose - The newly acquired superstar will handle co-captain duties and immediately becomes the #1 scoring option.
SG - C. Delfino - Exhibition game results have earned Delfino the first crack at the starting SG spot, ahead of Jordan Crawford. If Delfino's D can improve to something slightly better than a statue, he'll remain the starter.
SF - R. Jefferson - Despite numerous trade rumors surrounding the ultra athletic player, he remains the team's starter.
PF - L. Odom - Throughout most exhibition games, Odom has been the #1 scoring option, hitting over 30 multiple times. The acquisition of Rose should allow Odom to fall back into his utility role.
C - D. Howard - Co-captain Howard will team with Rose to creative the highest rated inside-outside duo in the league.
BACKUPS:
PG - A. Bradley - Avery's play encouraged the organization enough to allow them to turn loose both pieces of their PG duo, Flynn and Jennings. Bradley is very quick and plays excellent defense.
PG/SG - Jo. Crawford - A highly versatile guard that can handle both positions. Jordan may earn some starts at the 2. His defense is seriously lacking, but his offensive potential makes up for it.
SG/SF/PF - S. Young - The newly acquired Young will need to play as fast as a 2 and as strong as 4, or he could be in jeopardy of a 3rd trade before even getting in a regular season game.
PF/C - E. Udoh - The loss of Favors means a huge addition in playing time for Udoh. Previously he was looking at limited minutes, now he's the key cog behind both Odom and Howard.
RESERVE:
PG/SG - S. Livingston - The long road back from injury was a huge win for Shaun. But he'll have to continue to fight to get minutes from Crawford / Bradley off of the bench.
PF/C - T. Splitter - A raw/athletic defender, could see minutes if Udoh falters.
TOWEL BOY:
TB - L. Harangody - Every team needs one... he's ours.
