NDL Next 25 (Week 4)

Image#26 USC - USC's Week 1 loss to Miss St still has them reeling. I'm still thinking (based on first hand experience) that Sheldon rights this ship and will be back in the rankings next block barring any upsets.

Image#27 Michigan - A insane upset by Duke has parked Michigan firmly outside the top 25, and may be trending down further if they aren't careful. They're on the fence, thanks to a narrow loss to #6 ND, but they'll need a dominating performance (or two) to get back in the mix before next block.

Image#28 Texas - Coach VVV's loss threshold has already at it's limit, and with a few cupcakes remaining, the margin for error is slim at best. If the longhorns can snake past potential Giant Killer Duke, they can re-position themselves for a run.

Image#29 FIU - Johnboy has the Golden panthers poised for a run very similar to his Coaching debut at Rice, only this time, he's the team to beat in the conference. I expect the run to continue and we should see our first big potential BCS buster of the season barring any hiccups.

Image#30 Nevada - The wolfpack are one of three teams in the MWC making noise this season, and if the cards fall right, we may see Nevada cracking the top 25 as the undefeateds drop off

Image#31 Minnesota - After a block 1 loss, Minnesota is poised to make a run, and the coaches seem to be taking notice. With two Bottom 10 Candidates coming up, they should be primed for a run and could easily replacde some ranked two loss teams

Image#32 Florida St - Apparently losses to top 10 teams don't derail the coaches from voting for Coach Pengy, but his margin of error is slim nonetheless. Trending down until I see more.

Image#33 Colorado St - With 3 road wins and the only loss coming to an equally hot FIU, CSU looks hungry and Coach Block may see some poll time here shortly if he can avoid any additional losses

Image#34 Missouri - Getting smoked by South Carolina and Georgia, makes sense. Dropping a game to FIU? Unacceptable. Trending down til they get over .500.

Image#35 Pedobear State - As stated in the last writing, barring a hiccup against USF, still has a cupcake run for the most part til Week 10. With 4 winnable games, I expect an appearance by the almighty Pedobear in the near future.

Image#36 Nebraska - Coach Reign bounced back in a big way rattling off 3 wins after dropping their opener to Stanford. However, things don't bode well for the Huskers, and they'll have a tough time getting back in to the polls in the coming weeks. Should they pull off 2 more wins, we could see an appearance in the 20's as the season draws to a close.

Image#37 Indiana - Coach Peay is a quiet 2-0, with a cupcake OOC, but the schedule gets real with two games against top 10 opponents. With incomplete games against the easy ones, I don't think the Hoosiers make it to the Top 25 without a huge upset.

Image#38 Arizona State - Coach Giver is sitting in a good spot right now with two remaining winnable games before the back stretch of up to 4 top 25 opponents. If they remain toward the top of the division, other coaches will begin to notice accordingly.

Image#39 North Carolina - Coach Oracle has a tough slate against a reeling but still dangerous Mizzou team, the infallible Pimpin, and an underrated Hurricane team out to prove something. Beating pimpin would be enough to get a vote in my book, but 2/3 would still put the heels on the cusp depending how the cards fall.

Image#40 South Florida - USF should continue to turn heads as their lone loss is to Bama. Coach AJ is on track to make a run at the conference. Should he keep the momentum the Bulls will be a shoe-in for a top 25 spot.

Image#41 Washington State - Early in the season, Coach Cougnix finds himself atop the division thanks to early conference losses by Oregon and Stanford. Showdowns against #25 Oregon St, and Cal could continue to move the Cougars up the list. Question is, will the coaches notice before the schedule turns fierce?

Image#42 Kansas State - Both of Coach Champ's losses have come to top 25 opponents, and K-State's ability to climb in to the polls hinges on the WVU game. 3 losses may not get them in to the polls unless they win out.

Image#43 Air Force - Not sure why they received votes, but they're trending down til they can get a W.

Image#44 Army - Trending down after winning 1 of the first 4 games. Not likely to make the jump without more wins.

Image#45 Southern Miss - Lone loss came to #21 WVU, with a game against ND, a loss there won't hurt their chances as much, so long as they take care of business elsewhere.

Image#46 Eastern Michigan - Doc has EMU sitting at the top of the Mac-West, but with a point differential of 97-114, it'll take a win over #23 BYU to get any more attention.

Image#47 Mississippi State - Both of Miss St's losses came to teams that were or are in the Top 10. Quality wins over USC and Tulsa coupled with a great start in the Tough SEC West has Bearass thinking big. They have nothing but top 25 competition the rest of the way. So it's boom or bust for the Bulldogs.

Image#48 Kentucky - No real outlook until more games are played. Could very easily be in the Top 25 next week or the Bottom 10.

Image#49 UTEP - Losses have against hot/ranked teams, a 3 game win streak could but these guys in to voter consideration.

Image#50 Southern Methodist - SMU has a few overeager voters with that upset of ND looming. Should they play more games, and remain in the hunt for the division, they could move up quickly.
