A local news guy here in Louisville did a "coin flip" bracket (which I'm not fully buying since he's a UofL guy and he had UofL going to the Final Four, and UK losing first round....but I digress)
He's hit every game so far but one. He's top 1 percentile on ESPN right now.
This tournament is going to be one of the crazier ones, I believe.

Looking at the two starting lineups of the Kentucky game, it's like a varsity team scrimmaging the freshman

Only the Portland Trail Blazers have a taller team in terms of average height. And that w us having a 5'9" PG
It's ridiculous how tall these guys are

The Utah Jazz players' average age is younger than BYU's average age.

Still not sure that was goaltending. And still not sure if the NCSU winning tip wasn't basket interference

There's no question at all that it was goaltending and it was the correct call. The ball was on the way down and was going to hit the rim.jsence2 wrote:Still not sure that was goaltending.

Re: College Hoops 2014-2015 Thread
Just checked out the play by play, they hit their last field goal with over 10 minutes left in the game, missing their last 11 shots.
They also missed their last 6 free throws. There's obviously more notable chokes probably later in the tournament, but just based on those numbers, that would seem to be one of the worst tourney choke jobs in history, at least on the shortlist. 11 shots and 6 free throws

it was pretty bad.
nobody really cares about the game so that prevents it from going down in history books, but it was ugly

I think there was a Duke-Kentucky regional final that Duke blew a huge lead in the final 10 minutes that's probably the most notable.
But yea, no one would ever care about this game, but just based on the numbers, it's gotta be up there.

Most notable IMO was UCLA/Gonzaga when Adam Morrison was a Senior at Gonzaga. They had an 18 point lead with 6 minutes left and blew it.
Re: College Hoops 2014-2015 Thread
my buddy just text me that New Mexico St runs a defense that was similar to what my coach ran in high school.
we used to call it 'shadow'. it was almost like a matchup zone with a guy shadowing behind whoever the on ball defender was. it took a ton of communication and guys who understood the concepts to make it work but our team SUCKED and we made the final 4 my senior year basically 100% because of that D.
doesn't look like it worked too well for New Mexico St. today

1998. 17 point comeback in 9 minutes over an NBA-laden Dook team
