If Aldo can't fight, Chad Mendes is going to take his place and the fight will be for an interim belt.

I'm going to guess that we don't see that ref at a future UFC event.
Did you watch the after show? All that crap that Jackson was talking and he just flies over the point that he was beating on a guy that just got blasted in the junk and couldn't put him away (even though it probably would have been stopped by most refs... not so much for damage, but lack of active defense).

Re: MMA / UFC - Official Thread
I love the concept of this years show (team vs team). If American Top Team wins next week then they win the show, which is absurd to me after losing 8 bouts out of the 12 total. I think if you want to see who the best gym is put them head to head like they have and who ever wins the most matches win.
I find it funny that this hasn't been mentioned once in any of the interviews. I am sure Uncle Dana has told these guys and owners to not play that card and only talk about the point system. Even if the Blackzillions lose the next fight I think they won the show. I just find it hard that a team loses 66% of their fights on the show and they win the show.
I am expecting Usman vs Hussan in the final bout to determine which team wins this season. I'd prefer to see them in the live fight night card but definitely understand why both owners would go with these two in bout 12 as they are the only 2 that looks like they can beat anyone on each others team.
That ref sucked! The missed nut shot and then not stopping the fight for lack of doing anything but turtle'ing up for damn near 2 minutes. Then when Graves got up after he won it shows how much he was rocked as he was on spaghetti legs and it took him a little bit to recover.

I'm not sure that the staggering was related to the punches. He didn't take many, if any, clean shots to the head. That was his first time getting up after having his balls knocked into his throat. My guess is that had as much to do with it as anything.
Glenn and some of his guys made a lot of comments in the earlier episodes about how many fights they had won, disregarding the points. I think it's the natural effect to stop talking about it more as ATT started closing in. I'm totally ok with them setting up a "contest" and assigning different values. It adds an element of strategy.
I agree with you on the matchup. I think Hassan and Usman are the logical choices, but I'm not sure how that plays out, because I think this would be the fight for the TUF Finale. The Blackzillians have a few other options for a 2nd fight, like Banks, Luque or Buscape. If ATT wants to win, the obvious choice is Hassan. With that said, he's also their obvious choice for the finale. I think ATT might throw a wildcard out there for the final fight and go with Soldado. 1 of the coaches (Liborio maybe?) was pushing for Soldado in the last episode. He's a pretty talented fight that is dangerous as a striker and with subs. He's 7-1, with his only loss coming in Bellator last year. I could see him taking out any of the three guys that I mentioned from the other team.

To give Graves credit, he was moving when the ref told him. He didn't just lay there, he was moving and trying to improve his position. Eventually he did improve it.......drastically.

Yeah, he talked a lot about it on the after show and it made sense. He said there was no way he could stand up, so he just had to cover up and it came down to either exposing his head or his body. He chose to protect his head and eat some knees to the body. He definitely shifted positions and directions a few times to show some kind of activity. It's a shame, because he really shouldn't have been in that position.
I think it says a lot about Jackson that he couldn't finish the fight. Through the 2 fights that I've seen of him, he seems to have pillow-fists.

He had excuses for everything... including why he broke his fist. Not a fan after watching TUF Talk.

I thought he might turn out to be half way decent after the first fight, especially if he dropped down to 155 with his height or up to 185 with his speed.ReignOnU wrote:GeorgesGoons wrote:and made of glass as he broke oneReignOnU wrote:he seems to have pillow-fists.

Incredible card again. Lawler vs. Macdonald, best fight ever? I'm trying to come up with one to top it. I can't.

Still not a fan. He's so one dimensional. Mendes fought dumb and wasn't in shape. As bad as I hate to say it, Frankie Edgar would own MacGregor.

Frankie Edgar doesn't get tired while he lays and prays. He won't go for a submission out of desperation because he gasses.

I only pay for a few events a year... definitely glad I had a full house for this one... helluva card. Robbie's lip during that interview was insane!
