Louisville is going to get hammered. They have Kenny Johnson, Louisville assistant, on video offering $150,000 for Brian Bowen who signed with them a week later.

The schools implicated right now are Auburn, USC, Arizona, Louisville, Miami, and Oklahoma State. There’s going to be many more when these guys getting arrested start cutting deals and flipping on people. All three major shoe companies are involved too.

Especially with the FBI’s William Sweeney delivering a thinly veiled threat toward every coach in America: “We have your playbook. Our investigation is ongoing and we are conducting additional interviews as I speak.”

Louisville’s AD has been fired. There’s a 1PM press conference scheduled at which it’s expected Pitino will be fired. Apparently he just had a 5 minute meeting with the board of trustees.

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
Have friends in Louisville who are freaking out about the death penalty... Odds less than 1% right?

Pitino has a $44million buyout clause in his contract.
From what I gather, I haven't seen anything that specifically named him any of the FBI''s stuff, right?
Seems like a long legal battle could be coming, unless there actually is legit proof of Pitino being in on it.

They won't have to pay him. I'm sure he has breach of contract if major NCAA stuff were to go down. Maybe wrong cause he obviously had no morals clause in there after he pulled his lane frost.

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
my guess is he'll settle for something far less and get out of the spotlight for a while.shel311 wrote:Pitino has a $44million buyout clause in his contract.![]()

when feds are involved you don't push the envelope

Re: College Basketball 2016-2017
I imagine that mean Bowen gonna be ineligible? I remember the end of his recruitment seeming so bizarre, this explains it

I was listening to someone on the radio this AM saying that the most jail time any of the worst offenders will get will be months. Nothing that bad really. Like Dave said, I imagine he'd take a lot less money and hide out for a while.

I have no idea what is going on here but now that Miami is involved, I am all ears!!!
It wouldnt be a true, fun NCAA scandal without Miami. Amirite??!!?

In the report, it says from July to September 2017, Gatto (“aka Jim”) was scheming with four associates to funnel payments totaling $150,000 “at the request of at least one coach” to a “top” Class of 2018 high school recruit labeled “Player12” to attend “a private research university located in Florida. With approximately 16,000 students and over 2,600 faculty members, it is one of the state’s largest universities. University-7 fields approximately 15 varsity sports teams in NCAA Division I competition, including men’s basketball.”
That description fits UM, and the Hurricanes athletic program signed a 12-year partnership with Adidas in 2015.

Unfortunately I believe you would be correct. I don't see anyone going down for more than 3 years max. And it won't be any big time name either, it will be some middleman who will get paid to take the fallpacksyd2284 wrote:I was listening to someone on the radio this AM saying that the most jail time any of the worst offenders will get will be months.
