The majority of HSers who get drafted but fail to sign due to demands go to college, but are subsequently released by their school no matter how many times Billy puts them back. This has happened for a couple of seasons now and unfortunately teams have benefitted by getting players that were drafted as early as the first round. Edson was 1.1 but broke off negotiations after rejecting 5M (slot was 2.5M)

I am good with retiring him or sending him back to the team who drafted him as long as he costs $5 million (offer that was rejected) and no compensatory pick is given.

How do you guys feel about autosigning all players ... Avoids this

It opens up a world of complications and things to track if I gave the player back to team that drafted him and removed supplemental picks. Then when someone says hey, I offered this guy and he did not sign and I offered this much there is no way to even confirm it.

As of now I put them back in college during rollover and they usually get released to free agency. I am totally fine with retiring these guys, it makes it way easier for me to do. I will create a winter meetings poll about it tomorrow since its late in the evening now. If the poll votes for retire I will retire Edson and all future guys.

I imagine someone has/will and he will sign but if the poll votes to retire him I will retire him still and refund the money.

If u take my specs in Rule 5 cause ur an idiot,

I'd argue its idiotic to melt down about the same thing every other year rather than adjust your failing strategy. I'd also argue its idiotic to question moves and say they are stupid when the person you are calling out is the most successful owner in the history of our league. Carry on though, I enjoy it.

Most successful owner / greasy moves...starting to make sense now. We move the rosters from 25 to 26, which in my mind is gonna allow this type of greasyness to continue, but all good, glad my rant could give u all a laugh, I dont mind. Just bringing light to a part of the game being manipulated, but who am i to say anything...right? Lol

Going from 25 to 26 is in line with MLB rules. Get over it, you screwed up by not protecting a guy you coveted. My scout shows him as a high 40's potential. But if Ted sees something there may be something there. Oh well, your loss

whats wild is he was a IFA which means he has a shorter minor league time than a drafted player.. and he was a minor leaguer for 5 seasons.. so that means he was rule 5 eligible probably last year as well. lolll

I called up 10 players this year. You could of found a spot for 1 more.

Are you not attempting to manipulate roster rules by not placing a guy on the 40 man?



This all begs the question, which you've never answered any of the times you've complained about this, why not place him on the 40 man seeing as how you had open spots?
