2071 Season Thread... Cubbies Social Distance from the NDL
Re: 2071 Season Thread... Cubbies Social Distance from the NDL
Greeks and Cubs both go 3-3 this week but I blew a good opportunity as I had 6 games vs teams under .500. My schedule is tougher coming down the stretch, should be a fun finish out West.

First time Bill Quinn has crossed the 300K mark in his career is a bit of a shocker to me

Bullpen has been getting killed with injuries. Picked up Estaban Fonseca for league minimum. Hopefully he doesn't completely stink it up.
And I haven't been getting much production out of my 1B so I also signed Fred Jarvis to a league minimum to see how he plays out for the rest of the year and possible playoffs.
You always know when the Miami Vice are doing great and when they aren't. We miss you Nick!

Juan Lugo and Pat Hounsell threw some gems as the Greeks beat OCD in an 11 inning game 1-0.

Another sim and the Greeks and Cubs are still tied. Greeks had the tougher week and stayed tied, schedules close to even now. This is going to be one hell of a finish.

PLAYOFFS WILL BE RUN SUNDAY NIGHT AT 6:30 PM CST!!!!!! The regular season ends Sunday morning but with it being a weekend and most quarantined I think everyone can export early so that we can be ready. If there is a play-in game I'll work thru that scenario but we are on for Sunday at 6:30 pm CST!!!!!!

AL Wild Card teams are all wrapped up. Still some races going on.
Miami still the clear cut favorite in the East as his magic number is 6 over Boston. If Miami somehow blows this it would be one of the bigger upsets in NDL History.
Edmonton and Bowie will be decided the last week of baseball. Edmonton gets a shot at Washington and who knows what Ted does here, does he rest his guys for the playoffs or make it difficult for Edmonton? If the Mounties get swept in this series I can see them being a wildcard team and not the division winner. Bowie has by far the easiest schedule remaining, with Cincinnati as the only above .500 team remaining but with 10 road games and 3 home games anything is possible.
Richmond plays a slightly harder schedule here than the defending champions. I, for one, will be rooting on the Greeks to take this so that pitching staff in Cookeville has to play one extra series. This gets decided by a playoff game and Cookeville most likely wins that if their pitching rotation is set up for that game.
Washington has already locked up the #1 seed.
Omaha has secured a spot in the playoffs and are sitting at 2 for their magic number. The Beef are also sitting at 3 games for their magic number to lock up the #2 seed for the second year in a row.
LA and OCD will battle it out till the last series to see who wins the division. LA has a tougher schedule by far remaining. I'm on the fence on who I'd like to see win here. OCD by far has the better pitching staff but if you put 3-4 runs on the board against them you have a legitimate shot at winning. Can we have 2 divisions going to a playoff game to decide who wins?
NL Wild Card:
Alabama and OCD/LA have all but locked up the first two wildcard positions. The last spot will go to Houston, who has a sucking chest wound right now, and New Jersey. Houston plays the much tougher schedule with Richmond and OCD actually playing for something bigger and needing those wins. I think New Jersey slides in here to take over the last playoff spot.
