I'll never understand how a team/coach can just legit have no idea what they're doing in late half/game situations, and Anthony Lynn seems to make me ask this question on a weekly basis.

Why are you running the ball there, and if you do run the ball, how can an NFL team not be ready to get the FG team on quickly, and not just not have the FG team come on quickly, but for every single player on both the offense and kick team have zero clue what the plan is there?

If Taysom isn't an NFL QB, then not sure it matters,no?

I'd rather Brees gets the reps to get back in rhythm for the playoffs.

The Saints have legit made only 1 solid play on offense the entire 1st half and we're one dumb/unlucky play from being tied up, and only down 14-9.

The D has been impressive.

Drew Brees lost for the 18th time in the regular season when his team scored 29+ points. That's the most in the NFL since the merger. Dan Marino and Eli Manning are next with 14

George would say this is Brees's fault.

covid effects the brain is confirmed this season in football. some of the most idiotic play calls and time management i have ever seen in my 42 years of following football.

4th n 5 and throwing a fade route deep to the 2nd string tight end.

when they were showing the coaches from the state of Pennsylvania last night, i was just thinking , whats in the water over there.

Was there an easier ML than Jets +1000? The Rams are the kings of disappointment.

I flip flop between loving and wanting mcvay fired. If I see one more screen on third and long ...

Not much to do in the middle of no where PA. (Scranton, York, areas like that)

Interestingly, we've got a similar thing going around here... SW Ohio, generally the Cincinnati-Dayton corridor, has produced truckloads of coaches. There's a few things that drive it...
#1 - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cradle_of_Coaches MAC college out in the sticks. Not a damn thing out there but parties on the weekends and cows. Somehow both seemed to be connected.
#2 - The Miami connection also has ties to the University of Dayton, known for Gruden and it's where McVay's dad spent awhile, before working for Eddie DeBartolo (NE Ohio roots), with the 49ers for years.
#3 - If you look through the wikipedia link, you see that Miami has a lot of ties to Notre Dame (about 3hrs away and in a similar middle of no where area). ND has had numerous coaches come through their system from the Cincinnati area, thanks to the ties that they have to the parochial schools.
#4 - Mark Dantonio through Brian Kelly effects... The Dantonio family is from central Ohio and when Mark was at UC, he started bringing in local HS school coaches, similar to what ND had been plucking away in the 70s and 80s. When Brian Kelly came along, he took it up a notch and snagged 2 of the best HS coaches in Ohio. He also tried to go head to head and defend the Cincinnati area from ND and OSU... and he was pretty successful. OSU struggles mightly in SW Ohio. Even though Kelly is a decade removed from UC and he was only there a few years, he left a huge mark on the program. He pushed for new facilities, he built the connections to the local schools, and he promoted a lot of coaches.

As of late, there's been a lot of crossover between ND, UC and Ohio State. Kerry Coombs, the current OSU DC is 1 of elite HS coaches that Kelly plucked from Cincinnati Colerain. Luke Fickell, current UC head coach is from OSU. Tony Alford, the OSU asst. HC, was Kelly's RB/WR coach at ND for about 5 years before going to OSU. ND's top recruiter and most definitely a future head coach is Mike Mickens, who went to UC. ND is losing their DC (going home to Vandy) and the 1 person from the outside that I think has the best chance is Marcus Freeman, who was a HS teammate of Mike Mickens here in Dayton, who was also a LB at OSU and is currently the UC DC. There's a ton more, but I'm sure you get the idea.

Not only is the history deep with legendary names like Paul Brown, Parseghian, Schembechler and Hayes, there's a whole crew of coaches that will continue to rise to the top ranks.
