If we aren't out by the 31st do not be surprised if you see VBIED's and SVIED's being deployed by ISIS. This will begin the mission creep for our forces.shel311 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 11:32 am So the Taliban has refused to "allow" American to extend past the 8/31 deadline.
The military has also told Biden they need to know by today if he is or isn't going to extend the deadline because if he won't, they need 1 week to get all troops and equipment remaining out.
So basically we will find out today if Biden is going to allow the Taliban to call the shots and dictate when we leave since Biden has already stated we will stay as long as we need to to get everyone out safely.

I contracted an SVIED once in college. I choose to live somewhere. I'm people.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 10:05 amQuite simple to understand.
Poor people don't have the opportunity to move out of their crime ridden area and into neighborhoods that provide better schooling for their children. It's an endless cycle. North Omaha is a prime example of this. The vast majority of all violent crime happens in this area. The amount of people who live below the poverty line is staggering. Do you think they want to live there? They can't afford to leave

Is "Somewhere" the name of a town in Afghanistan?
Did you not choose to live where you live?
You said people don't choose to live somewhere. That makes no sense.
Re: Politics and stuff
That idea identified a small percentage of people. I was out for a few days so missed this.GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Tue Aug 24, 2021 10:05 amQuite simple to understand.

Nick's statement was "imagine actively choosing" and you said people don't choose to live anywhere. That is an asinine statement. I think most will pass over this...

Re: Politics and stuff
You are arguing semantics. Guess I shouldn't have used "somewhere" as that is all you and Coug are hung up on. I'm sure you two are smarter than that and can read between the lines.
People without means ($$) to move away from their current location have zero choice where they live. Is that easier for you to understand?

Re: Politics and stuff
Well that's actually a true statement vs what you previously said which made no sense - so yes, much better!GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 12:31 pmYou are arguing semantics. Re: Politics and stuff
Not from the initial statement. There are no semantics involved when the statement was "imagine actively choosing to live in Afghanistan".
And the George response was "people don't choose to live anywhere"

Overnight the US Embassy tells Americans, "Do not travel to Kabul Airport. If you are at the airport waiting at the gate they should leave immediately."
Within the last hour there are reports a SVIED (suicide vest) detonated in the crowd of people trying to get onto the airport.

Multiple Afghan's killed, at least 3 US service members injured. 2nd explosion just happened as well, most likely another SVIED.
In other news. An Italian aircraft that was evacuating people was fired upon overnight.

I don't think this will end well, and any Americans that may die as a result is directly on Biden. It's just wild to me the nonsense we went through with the last impeachment, but something like this isn't an offense enough for a President to be forced out.
Stunned, totally

Re: Politics and stuff
Just wait. Today was most likely a test run. We had a 100 or so troops leave 2 nights ago. Wait till we start evacuating all the troops and we only have a couple hundred on the ground when the last 2 C-17's take off.Crowes wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 6:52 pmIf this is the opportunity as you say what are they waiting on?GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 6:39 pmThis shows your ignorance. This IS the opportunity to kill Americans. They weren't cut off from the world till a couple of days ago
Why agree not to overrun/attack the airport and allow the continued evacuations of Americans?
The more time they give the government the more Americans that will get out. Doesn't seem like to good of a plan if that's what their endgame is.
I would not be surprised to see an ISIS attack that resembles the one that ended up killing Navy Seal Chuck Keating. I was flying overhead when we watched 4 or 5 VBIED's in succession hit targets to get deeper into the coalition forces side.
