I hate quarry for a different reason. There are snipers everywhere. I played fucking Free For All and they were all over. I hate them. For demolition, it does not have very good Javelin spots. The best is Invasion and Favela. i prefer demolition over sabotage to be honest. I'm down for any game mode...search is my favorite though. Gotta love that final killcam.

There can be. We just rarely play it and tend to treat it like a giant FFA. However, there are clearly key spots that you can take over and win with.

I like the fact that there is a primary objective to go for. Deaths actually have a huge impact in Search and Destroy compared to TDM. Search is probably the most team oriented game there is. And there is waaaaaay more strategy and waaaaaay less deaths from rockets, tubes, etc.Hoos wrote:Why play search over straight TDM?

Agree, Also let's face facts. Beefy is awesome to play with, but he would be the first to tell you he aint a K/D guy. You have him on TDM and we are in a hole to begin with in a lot of games. In SND, he can protect a plant and get at least one or 2 kills and we are going to win. SnD is a blast with 4 guys or more. I enjoy that it takes me doing the exact opposite of what I do on domination to be successful. Plus no greater feeling than shooting that random tube accross the map and getting the first kill just as the match starts.

A death means more in TDM than in SnD; by a lot. Every death is worth ten points to the opponent. Every death also leads to potential for killstreaks, meaning the value of each kill is probably somewhere in the 15 points range. More importantly, the points do not judge; it is 10 points for the shittiest player and ten for the best.
It is like an out in baseball; there are only 75 outs in TDM and each one is important. Along with having no static objective, this is why you see more positional strategy than in other matches.

I will completely disagree with you here. The fact that a death means one less player on your team for the entire rest of the round is a MUCH bigger deal than dying and respawning to start killing again. Not to mention the fact that when somebody dies you lose the voice of that teammate to call out positions in S&D. I'm also talking about our regular guys here by the way. What you are talking about is Win Probability, an entirely different animal. There is a lengthy explanation on probability to be had here, but the long and short of it is that a finite result (a 10-point death in TDM) will always be greater than an abstract result (a death in SnD).

If you are talking Impact, then I would assume you would mean win probability. I understand what Trendon is saying though. You lose a Big Mike or a Dan early on a SnD match = we are fucked. Tendon, using your formula here there are 75 "outs" in TDM, in SnD you only have 24 "outs" Based on your formula its almost 3-1 the value of a life in SND over TDM.
