Knocked out my PT test this morning, -2 with a -20 wind chill. Ran one of my slowest times ever, 17:50 two mile, and never felt my getting the whole run. By far the worst conditions I have ever taken a PT test in. Even worst than 100+ degrees and dusty in Iraq.

-11 here right now. I took my dog out to pee this morning and she just laid down and cried. No joke. I'm assuming she pissed at some point because I haven't found any spots around the house. Or maybe she's just holding it in out of fear.

My car said -1 on lunch today and weather.com says it is -23 with windchill and tonight it will get down to -7 with a windchill of -30 to -34.
I cannot remember it being this cold in a long time in Ohio.

We get up to 40 as they are stating for Friday, Saturday and Sunday and people will be running around in shorts and t-shirts.

Just so you all know. I stepped outside today with a normal temperature of -22, windchill factor of -57. I was outside for 15 seconds and it was the coldest thing I have ever experienced.

I wanna see what -57 feels like...for about 5 seconds.

Stepped out onto my deck barefoot for a good 15 seconds. My mom told me to get back inside, so I did. My college sent out an email on Friday telling us not to come back until Tuesday because campus was closed and its too cold. brrrrrrrr

It was -27 wind chill when I went to my car at 11 am.

The sun was shining bright.....and it was -27

I was scraping my windshield and my eyes were watering from the wind. I got into my car, pulled off my glasses to wipe off what I thought was fog....and it was frost. The inside of my lenses actually had frost on them from the moisture from my eyes. Looked like little snowflakes all over. I had left my sunglasses in the car, the lenses actually shrunk; meaning when they expand back out they will likely crack. Good thing I just had my new lenses ordered last week

I truly feel for anybody homeless or who has to work in this, I couldn't feel my face after about 30 seconds. The cold is one thing, the wind....it just hurts.

The thought of that makes me shudder.

In that instance, you gotta stay outside at least another 15 seconds just to let your Mom know she doesn't control you and tell you what to do!!!

Frostbite be damned!!!

The first Giants football game I ever attended was December 24, 1989, Raiders at Giants.

This game:

It was consistently windy and sub zero with the wind chill. Definitely the coldest weather I've ever stayed out in. We'd definitely had days of -15 to -20 with the wind chill back East (rare as they were) but you weren't going outside for 3 hours of tailgating and a 3 hour football game in that weather.

Just finished shoveling the driveway in -12 degree weather with a windchill of -37. That was an interesting experience.

Also, Metra just cancelled 24 outbound trains out of Chicago, so now several thousand people are stranded downtown. If you were stranded, would you call your wife to drive downtown to pick you up, eventhough several highways remain close? Or would you pay the $300 room rates it cost to stay downtown?
