I voted yes, but leaving over it is pretty drastic
Before my time, but it sounded pretty bad. I believe all the offenders are gone now, for the exception of Nick.

I kid, I don't think Nick was part of it

- A draft pick trading poll is going on right now which is pretty important. I will be closing it when I run the Rule 5 draft on Saturday. One GM has already stated they will leave if it passes (which is fine, to each their own). If you have concerns about it please post in the poll thread, would love to hear about them.

That's just dumb to leave over, especially if you don't give it a year to see how it plays out. It can always go away next season if it's bad.

I do think we need to cap how many 1st rounders a team can acquire though.
I think 2 first rounders would be a good cap.

I remember 1 dude gobbling up like 5 of the top 8 picks in 1 draft or some shit, he may have done that for a couple of seasons in a row.

Doing the only 1 year ahead thing helps, but that is still possible to get a little weird with.

Nah draft lottery has helped with tanking. I am good on that old issue.

Why do we need a cap on the number of first round picks someone can have?
As long as we cap it to where you can only trade the upcoming draft's picks, it shouldn't matter.

If a team can acquire 3-4 1st round picks, they obviously moved some good players to do that.

And I would never vote yes if this is for more than the upcoming draft's picks. It hurts a league trying to find guys if you allow people to trade picks 2-3 seasons ahead.

Yep I agree with this. It will take a couple seasons adjusting to the value but I doubt that scenario plays out tbh....or if it does, incredibly rarely. I actually think most of you are pretty good at this game lol. Have some faith in your fellow GMs!!

It was out of control and the commissioner at that time was the biggest problem.

File is up. Reports and S+ to follow.

- Rule 5 draft is here! If you think a guy has any chance of being taken he most likely will. Protect your guys, it's on you!
- The Draft Pick poll is incredibly close (currently 15-11 for it). I forgot to allow to change your vote. If you have changed your mind and would like to change it let me know and I will manually adjust it.

The draft pick vote passes 15-11. I know there are a lot of hesitations from some of you. I appreciate that, but let's let the system play out for a season or two before handcuffing it (or turning it off it is potentially that damaging). I trust that you guys are good enough GMs that this will have a mostly positive impact on the league. And remember, this doesn't require to trade picks at all. You still have every right as a GM to say "no I don't want to deal with picks at all" in your trade talks.

I will be enabling this in game and S+ today. There will be a new Slack channel for the opened trades and we will swap to using S+. The Trade Tool is pretty self explanatory but if you have questions please let me know. I know it will take a bit to get used and if people still want to post in the trade forums as well as the S+ tool for the time being I have no issues with that. Along with the tool comes a Pick Tracker to keep track of who owns what pick, it's pretty awesome tbh and beats doing it the manual way 100x over.

If you have questions please ask away! If this vote is enough to make you want to leave the league I ask you to give it a season. If you won't let me know asap so I can find a replacement. Thanks.

File is up. Reports and S+ to follow.

- I protected players from Edmonton because it appears he quit in protest to the draft pick trading. I protected from Charleston because Caryr and I have been trying to get his file to work for 2 days and couldn't get it before R5.

- Please see above (and/or Slack) for the message about draft pick trading passing.
