- Manu was awesome to watch last night
- Danny Green is setting unattainable career expectations right before our eyes
- Miami should make Chalmers/Cole sit in the corner and wait while they run their offense
- I don't know why, but I hate Bosh more than any other NBA player

Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
I read that Lebron was 1 of 8 shooting when Diaw was guarding him.
I feel like I typed that wrong.

Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
i wanted to post one time but i said meh fuck it. every playoffs last 3 yrs, Lebrons numbers have gone down. and its not like its not a decent sample size, its over 300+ shot attempts/playoff,
ex: this yr he shot .565 FG% .406 3P% and .603 eFG%. this playoffs hes shooting .493, .370 and his eFG% is .533. His assists are up, but hes Lebron james and his assists shouldnt be up. Like in that 1 loss when they were down 4 and hes in the corner for 3!! and he passes inside to the center. I mean ya thats the "more efficient" play if theres 2-3 mins left, not 10 seconds down 4.
last yr. .531/.322/.543 and in playoffs .500/.259/.522 and even his assists were down, and that was on 502 FGAs in the playoffs compared to 1169 in the reg so its definitely a decent sample size.
the last time he played better in the playoffs to his reg season stats was like.. 4 seasons ago i wanna say.

Without looking I would assume most players have better regular season numbers than playoffs, no?

Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
I heard another crazy stat. First, I get that players tend to be a bit less efficient in the playoffs, but the numbers were something like:
Lebron shot below 50% from the field 13 times in the Heat's 1st 82 games(regular season+ Bucks series). He's shot below 50% 12 times in the last 17 games, or the Bulls/Pacers/Spurs series. Pretty crazy.
He's also been inefficient scoring in 4 of the 5 games in this series.

Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
I would assume this of most regular starters as well. In the playoffs you aren't playing the Raptors and Trailblazers. Playoffs are not the same as regular season. Not defending James, because he has be hot or cold this playoffs, should be more consistent if he really is "The Man".Weasel wrote:Without looking I would assume most players have better regular season numbers than playoffs, no?

The elite scorers are volume type players, pretty much yea.Weasel wrote:Without looking I would assume most players have better regular season numbers than playoffs, no?
Obviously not always, but on average.
Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
im confused. Lebron and them dont feel the pressure of the NBA finals cause its just another game, but their numbers always go down in the playoffs. So... is that coincidence? or do people feel the pressure? or suddenly these teams become super defensive cause last time I checked, Diaw shouldnt have Lebron shooting 1 of 10.

ya man, Lebron usually does well against Seattle... oh wait, lolcougnix wrote:I would assume this of most regular starters as well. In the playoffs you aren't playing the Raptors and Trailblazers. Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
I think, generally speaking, the pace of the game slows down. Also, volume shooters in the playoffs tend to play more minutes and probably take more shots per minute. And while shooting more doesn't automatically mean you'll make less, I think guys are probably shooting more bad shots at times, thus the numbers going down.nick wrote:im confused. Of course, that doesn't account for the difference with Lebron averaging 57% ont he season and something like 43% in these Finals. Could be sample size, of course. Whatever the reason, Lebron has now up to today, been MUCH below his normal scoring production/efficiency in his Finals career. The OKC series, as of now, is the outlier.
Of course, Lebron could play games 6 and 7 just like he did game 4, and then what?

Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
Im talking about Lebron James and his #'s being worse in the playoffs...every year.. consistently.. meanwhile hes shooting the same amount of shots, and they were 8-1 vs their 2 opponents. He also shot .627% in the first round to inflate those numbers or theyd be even worse. But.. then I remembered you said players dont feel the pressure of the finals so now... i dont know what to think Dave help me.DRiccio21 wrote:what in the world are you talking about?nick wrote:im confused. Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
cause Boris Diaw is defending you? im guessing.
it makes no sense lol. Lebron shot 17.5ish FGA/gm in Reg season, and 18.5ish in the playoffs..
4-0 sweep - .627%
4-1 conf semis - .438%
4-3 conf finals - .510
finals - .436
im guessing its not so much lebron as it is his the rest of his team?

Out of 13 playoff appearances for Jordan, 2 he had a better FG% in the post season versus the regular season. And he was a 49.7% regular season over his career and 48.7% playoff shooter.

Re: NBA 2012-2013 Thread
in Lebrons last yr with Cleveland, his playoff and reg season numbers were identical (.503 to .502, .545efg to .550) and even the year prior he had much greater playoff numbers than reg season. so ya, im kinda curious why ever since he came to Miami his numbers have dropped during the playoffs.
