How do you guys know he woulda been there 16? youre shocked by draft picks so far. you have no inside knowledge. You always go your BPA. He was their best player available. no brainer.
Edit: Why wouldnt Cincy, Miami and Washington not go QB? There were 3-4 teams who could of drafted him before 16

the fuck??

Definitely could have gone Defensive Line and then got the QB of their choosing at 17

ESPN showing that DT Simmons video right after he was taken was an interesting choice.

Not sure what they see in him that others seem to not see.
The craziest part to me is, it seems like they could have kept their 6th pick, and traded #17 for Josh Rosen.
How good do they really have this guy rated if he's more valuable than Josh Rosen AND the #6 overall pick?

I'd be absolutely shocked if the Chiefs released him.
I'm guessing a suspension that has him back for the end of the season and playoffs.

They probably could have traded their second round pick for Rosen.
I don't know if I'd be a fan of Haskins if I was a Redskins follower after his post-draft interview. If your motivation for playing well in the NFL is you feel slighted by being picked 15th I'm not sure that's a good sign. He had one (very good) season in college and the first thing he wants to tell the world after getting picked in the middle of the first round is "The league done messed up"?

I was looking at some of the "experts" evaluation of Tom Brady back in 2000.
- Not big enough
- Slow feet (ran a 6 or so in the 40)
- throws a loose spiral
Cant remember the others off the top of my head. Just because the experts don't think someone is going to be good doesn't mean anything. Hell Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell were supposed to be the next big stars. I hope this Jones kid does well and first chance he gets to leave NYG he goes since the fans thinks they screwed up.
And to be honest, I think NYG screwed this one up. He would have definitely been there at 17 and they could have gotten some help on the O or D line or a game changing LB at 6. But I agree, I thought they would have traded their 17 for Rosen (I think his cockiness, read entitled, works in NY).

What would have been awesome was that this draft be in NYC and they make this pick. I think NYC would have burned to the ground.

You guys sounds old and grumpy. "Get off my lawn."
If Haskins is motivated by feeling like he should have been a top 3-6 pick and he expected to go to NYG, Raiders, or even fall to the Bengals, then he dropped... so be it. It's not like he said he didn't want to play for Washington. Nothing wrong with the kid having a chip on his shoulder and wanting to prove the league wrong. He's far from the first youngster to boast about it... and many have followed through on their promise.
As for Jones, I'm fairly certain it's the Cutcliffe connection. I don't think Jones was worth of 6, but I don't have any reason to think he's going to be terrible either. He could be a solid 10-15 consistent starter. I don't think it was a lock that they could get him at 17. You could argue that they should have dropped down, but who is to say that they could find a trading partner that wanted to move into the spot, that also fit a safe area where they felt they could get him? Bengals were at 11, Denver was at 10 before trading out (why did they trade out? Did they want Jones?) Miami is at 13. So that leaves 7, 8 , 9 and a risky 12. Of those, Det and GB really had no reason to move up. So if you've got a QB you like, don't risk it, go for it.
