your 1st mistake was listening to phil simmstrendon wrote:Phil Simms was on the radio today telling an anecdote about how Mike Shanahan attempted to defend against the Culpepper/Moss combo back in the day. He said he took the backup QB during practice and made him scramble around in circles and simply lob it up to a receiver; after all, pop-fly passes like Flacco's one from yesterday and what Culpepper did to Moss are actually uncommon.Cnasty wrote:Agreed.ajalves wrote:Champ Baily....might be time to hang em up.
or move to safety
He got called so many times yesterday for all the wrong reasons. He looked pretty bad against Torrey Smith.
In watching the replay over and over again of that game ending bomb that safety wasnt even close and looked ridiculous.
SImms said he asked what the result was. Shanahan replied, "Well we caught six of them, interfered with the receiver on two of them, and managed to bat down the remaining two."
Playing defensive back in high school, I always had trouble with that balloon ball bullshit ... and we were all moving at, what, 85% of the speed of the NFL. I feel for the safety.

Yes, and NE won the SB.nick wrote:didnt Tom Brady replace Bledsoe after an injury?shel311 wrote:you make it sound like it's a rule lol.The_Niddler wrote:Last I checked, you are not supposed to lose your starting job due to injury!
Meaning, once you are healthy to come back, it is yours.
Harbaugh clearly thought Kapernick gave his team the best chance to win
It took great leadership and vision to make that move..
Should Bledsoe have gotten his job back too?
Re: NFL Thread
Yes, but the difference was that Bledsoe was out for almost three months. When Brady got hurt in the AFC Championship Game, there were people (including me) that wanted Bledsoe to have his job back. Boy did I come around on that one!nick wrote:didnt Tom Brady replace Bledsoe after an injury?shel311 wrote:you make it sound like it's a rule lol.The_Niddler wrote:Last I checked, you are not supposed to lose your starting job due to injury!

Love the call to go for it there, though it obviously didn't work.
One day coaches will realize to spread shit out then run up the middle on these 3rd and 4th and short plays. One day!!!

Wow, I'm sure the Falcons DB would not have given up on the play obviously, but that was a terrible call there. Seattle definitely got the snap off before the clock went to :00.

This game has been amazing. This is the first time I got to see Wilson all year long and I am impressed to say the least.
