Re: Random Discussions
We have downtime procedures, go to paper, perform the functions needed as computers will not cripple if truly needed to care for people.
With that being said, it definitely slows things down and adds a level of complexity to the functions.
The bigger concern is the HIPAA and privacy ripples after this.

First I'm hearing of this, but I'd imagine that's just elective type procedures, though I could be wrong.DRiccio21 wrote:and they couldn't access anything or perform any surgeries for hours.
If something is truly critical/urgent, short of not being able to use the equipment, a hospital will still be able to perform the surgery. There may be slight delays along the way, but it would be in minutes, not hours.
But again, I know nothing of the details on this.

Re: Random Discussions
He even said it in his exaggerated comment.
Not performing surgery unless life or limb. Well yea. No surgeon is going to perform a surgery that provides a high risk level that a known outcome can possibly be delayed or a patient transferred on.
The rest is just rubbish, exaggerated fun.
Would love Weasel's take on this as being a live member in an OR though.

I don't know what any of this stuff means outside of what the guy said. which is why i'm asking
I would assume if a trauma patient came in that you didn't already have info on you'd probably be fucked if you couldn't run tests, no? I mean I literally have no idea

Re: Random Discussions
You can still run any test you can imagine but it would take longer than normal.
Labs, radiology, all of that. Just like they did "back in the day".
Everything would just take longer basically and the bigger effect is the revenue hit and the privacy ramifications if patient info was leaked.

Re: Random Discussions
I have run 4 miles every day for only a week and a half.
I don't know how you runner marathon fellas do it.
I'm doing HIIT? Walk 1 minute(usually 3mph) run as fast as you can the next(usually 9mph). Repeat over and over for 30 minutes.
F running

Re: Random Discussions
Love the treadmill.
Can never just run if you will. Need the mixup of HIIT and it's supposedly way better for you and more benefits but who knows.
I just love to walk into the garage and go and not worry about weather or the environment.

Re: Random Discussions
WSOP Final Table happened to come on one of the ESPN channels.
Not that I figured I could teach 5 year olds how to play Texas Hold em, but I was just generally explaining what was going on, talking about the poker chips, the hands, all that good stuff.
One of my boys looks at me and says, "Can you eat those chips?"
That's when I realized that I may not have ever wasted 5 minutes as spectacularly as I just did.
