Pretty happy with the FIns haul. Obviously all predicated on Tua - but I like that they didn't panic and trade up for him. Love that they invested in OL early as well
Didn't love picking a damn long snapper in the 6th
Are you from south Florida?
No, California, but my Dad played for the Fins back in the 70's
You can't just say the 70's and not let us know whether he was there in '72 or not.

I go to a Eagles (not NFL) golf tournament every year and there was a guy on the 70/71 Husker national championship team that was drafted by the Dolphins and played there. Offensive line if I remember right, guy is 6'6" or so. He tells some of the best stories from his days as a Husker and 'fin.

Oh nice, who? If he was on the 72 team or thereabouts I’ve probably met him. The Fins have a big party every 5-year anniversary for the 72 team and I’ve gone out for a couple to play golf and go to the game

I'll have to find out his name. He is an old school guy that I meet once a year

Your dad Bob Heinz the DT?
If so, Wasted, he was a starting DT on the 1972, 14-0 Dolphins!

Yeah, he had actually retired after '77, and was working a regular job. Skins I guess had a crap ton of DLine injuries last year and his old coach was with them so they coaxed him out of retirement for the 2nd half of the season. He didn't even really "move" there. Just hotel'd it and my mom, brother and sister stayed home in California. He said it was great just going around and seeing all the sights for a couple months

Let's get to the good stuff!!
Do you and your Dad do a champagne toast every season when the last undefeated team loses?
Haha no - we've only done it once, when the Pats lost to the Giants in the Super Bowl with the helmet catch. Going in we were both pretty resigned to the fact that the Pats would win and it'd be over. We didn't even watch it together, I had little kids at the time (1 and 3). Game ended though, I hit the store to get a bottle and b-lined it on up to his house
Honestly - with the way the league is now, I think that record is safe for a long time
