Taking my u bias away, which is near impossible I know, the dude is everything I love about sports and football.
I watch sports to be entertained, he entertains the shit out of me and he is actually one of those guys that backs up his antics with ridiculous playing ability.
A team runs out together
Can I use Dave's "does everyone get a trophy too"?
Get off your high horse and have a little fun
No, sports are serious and we must treat them with the highest of moral standing!!!
I think there a slight difference between moral standing and rooting for players that are involved in major crimes. If we were all bashing on Ray because he had 10 kids with 10 women, that would be a moral issue. But rooting for him when he was an accessory to murder (or rooting for Vick after his criminal past) is a little different.
I was moreso talking about your "real teams come out together" comment, acting like dancing before a game is the real sin
And also, I wasn't there the night of the crime, so I won't cast judgment for a guy who wasn't convicted of murder.

I said accessory to murder. The guy pled guilty on obstruction of justice in the investigation and paid out (actual sum not-disclosed but allegedly) $1 million to the family of each of the two guys killed that night to avoid a civil trial.
But no, dancing isn't a real sin, it just makes a man look like a fool on television. Despite not liking the Patriots I love that they started what has become a bit of Super Bowl tradition with the teams coming on the field as a team and not a bunch of individual player introductions. In fact, even last year (if I remember right) the two teams came onto the field as teams without individual player introductions. I bet that Ray wouldn't be able to stand that and will come on at the end by himself anyway.

That's all fine and dandy to think that.
Again, I was moreso laughing at the "real teams come out together" which basically asserts that the Ravens aren't a real team, despite having won a SB with LEwis dancing in the pregame, despite being 1 game away from another SB, and despite the countless other teams who have come out individually during the SB.

Doing it in pregame is the only way to top the awesomeness of the Super Bowl Shuffle.
And I'm pretty sure if I watched the Super Shuffle again now since I haven't in who knows how many years, I may change my mind and say that can't be topped, not even a dancing Flacco in pregame

That's just silly talk lol.
Well if you want to be that literal...
They also haven't done individual player intros since the Pats/Rams Super Bowl in 2002 (and only the Rams had individual intros, the Pats came out as a team). Every year since it has been team only. So, the NFL has set a standard that "team" is more important than individual. Or, they're a bunch of superstitious bastards and after the Rams lost that game no team wanted to be introduced as individuals.

And who cares? It is a GAME, if he wants to dance before the game, let the man dance before the game. He can still be a great teammate, leader, and on a "real team" while dancing before a game
So, if the Ravens go against that new trend, go individual intros, Lewis dances for 5 minutes, and the Ravens win, then what?

'makes you look like a foo'l, says who? i think it makes him look entertaining and hilarious.
i think you're a fool if you can't enjoy yourself and do whatever makes yourself happy regardless of what others may think. why should Ray Lewis be anything but himself to fit into what Joe or anyone else deems 'appropriate'. you don't have to like him, everyone gets the right to judge if they so choose. but coming out alone, together, on horses or dropped out an airplane makes absolutely no difference. do whatever makes you happy as long as you're doing your job.
its like Craig Sager... ever think the guy just wears ridiculous suits to say a big FU to society. like fuck you i'm supposed to wear suits an be 'professional'... heres what i think about that
They can all do what they want, Dave. But in Ray's case, I think it makes him look clearly selfish/self-centered and that's one of the few qualities in a person that I really dislike.
Does anyone else find themselves reading both posts of a double-post? I dont know why I do it, maybe I always think there's going to be something different at the end
i had to laugh, I got into a huge debate with these guys i know about if you were redrafting the entire NFL, what you take first round. They all went "elite QB! you need elite QB!" i said you build the ol/dl and let any avg joe schmo play QB until you can draft one.. No one liked that idea. Good to see 2 non elite QBs in the Super Bowl in Flacco and Kaepernick.
i love Ray Lewis, but the one thing that bugs me about him is this God shit he goes off on. "God wanted us to win!", if God exists, I honestly doubt he's watching the outcome of an American Football game and not monitoring the millions of starving kids around the kid. Add into the fact that Ray Lewis is a murderer, or accessory, and ya, just looks ridiculous to me.
