How does that work? Is he able to retire, then sign with another team during the season?

Nah, Green Bay would still have his rights.

He'd have to either return to Green Bay or Green Bay trade him to get to another team.

Good luck NFL!
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Just this month, 13 NFL staffers and four players, including one of each this weekend, have tested positive for COVID despite being vaccinated, per sources. NFL and NFLPA have been in discussions to increase testing cadence for vaccinated staff and players as an extra precaution.
Wait...increase testing for those who are vaccinated?

Testing asymptomatic people who have been vaccinated is truly the height of absurdity.

The unvaccinated are unvaccinated at their own accord. They know the risks and accept those risks, which really isn't a big risk for healthy young men (not counting people in the front office).

My question is, how long does this COVID scare go on for? Everyone said, just get vaccinated and we can go back to normal.....but here we are with the vaccinated not being able to go back to normal. The chance of them dying is damn near zero under the age of 50. What is the straw that breaks the camels back and people say fuck it and revolt? I personally thing it'll be because of sports, and the NFL in particular. We get a half assed season this year when most of the guys are vaccinated and test positive and have to sit out, people are going to be pissed. The NFL fanatics are like no other in the big 4 of pro sports....Soccer (or football for you foreigners) is another sport where you have some fanatics but we don't have that here in the US

America has 350? Million ppl and like 50% unvaccinated. That’s 175 million or 5 Canada’s. Until more ppl are vaccinated this shit will continue. All you can do is your part to get ppl the vax since it clearly works.

It's just funny all the hoops they're going through for this with NFL players who have virtually no concern with COVID and I don't think a single player has had any long term effects from COVID as of now, certainly nothing critical...and all so they can go out on a field and bash their brains in and accrue actual legit medical issues.

Testing vaccinated people with no symptoms is truly just unimaginable, I can't really find a word to describe how dumb it is at this point.

Nobody under 12 can get it as of now if I recall correctly. Not sure how many of that 350M fall into that category. And I believe it's 58% fully vaccinated and in the high 60's or low 70's with at least one shot. CNN hasn't shown that in some time

edit: almost 50M under the age of 12.

Still makes zero sense that they're testing.

How many companies in America don't do any testing whatsoever, but NFL players need a daily test...why?

I can honestly say I don't care. Of those 85k, how many are hospitalized? That's what you should be focused on

Quality stuff from Edgerrin James yesterday.
Couldn't find the speech, but couple notable lines

"My career started with gold teeth, and ended with this gold jacket."

"I’m forever immortalized, locked up in the Canton Institution of Corrections. Inmate No. 336 in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.”
