Re: NFL Thread
Not only that... but sounds like they played some games with the contract to ensure he gets most of the money, even if he's suspended for some games next year.

RIP John Clayton
Re: NFL Thread
this shit is super weird. In the real world all you need is 1 case to never play again.. he has 22! and people think all 22 are lying. 21 could be lying and 1 be telling the truth and hes still a piece of shit. Wild.

Re: NFL Thread
Obviously none of us know if he did it or not. On the surface, 22 girls looks really bad.
But I don't think a single one of the 22 girls reported it to the cops right after it happened. None of them immediately lawyered up and all 22 girls ended up with the same sleazy lawyer. That's sketchy as hell. And they do have text messages if at least some of the girls bragging about hooking up with him and also how they were going to join the lawsuit to get money from him.
I'm pretty sure the lawyer was also essentially recruiting or basically looking for as many victims to come forward a he can. Again, maybe some are true but the entire thing is really weird in how all 22 girls followed the same gaemplan and ended up with the same 1 lawyer.

Re: NFL Thread
people probably said the same about cosby
Re: NFL Thread
people just disconnect the fact that 1 case is wrong (potentially against the law). Like I said 21 of them coulda texted its a scam, but if he sexually assaulted 1 girl hes still in the wrong.
Re: NFL Thread
CLeveland clearly does. They catered this contract so if Watson gets suspended hes barely effected financially.
Re: NFL Thread
Nobody disagrees with you but just provide proof for one of the 22 cases. I am not saying they won’t but if they can’t provide proof for 1 of 22 then you are not a monster to say that just maybe a rich and famous dude was a victim of getting scammed. Now if 1 of them can then throw the dude to the fire but it’s ok to wait and see what actually comes out because as of now it has been very little

Re: NFL Thread
A lot of criticism being thrown Cleveland's way for this, and I get it. But what about all of the other teams that were also trying to cater to the same guy for his services on the field. Don't they deserve the same criticism? They just don't get it because they didn't land the guy. Doesn't seem fair.

Re: NFL Thread
Based on the case files that are out there, more than half of the claims are a joke. If there is 1 or a few that are legit, we're never going to know and he's never going to admit to it. He'll settle and the civil case will disappear. With that said, if I had to bet on the cases today, I'd say most of the 22 are tossed and they don't win the few that remain if they don't settle. Rusty Hardin (Watson's lawyer) has a helluva track record... and the record includes Jimmy Haslam. Sucks if there are legit cases in there, because the others aren't doing them any favors. The evidence against them is pretty bad.

Re: NFL Thread
Matt Ryan to the Colts. Falcons eat a shit fuck ton of dead money. they gotta be going for Willis in the draft. The steelers had been linked to him but i really hope they dont get aggressive and trade up and give a ton of assets to a rookie qb to sit for a year behind mitch.
as for the Colts, i like the move. Ryan isn't as bad as he's been perceived the last few years and with a nice o line he could be successful. the AFC is just brutal

Re: NFL Thread
Jameis back to the Saints on a cheap deal.
Given what Watson got, what's out there and what it would cost, that feels like best case scenario/best value.

I agree on Ryan. He is a statue but if you can protect him he can still be really good.
