21. I think what I did was (when I had it at 22 per year) I went to add 1m per year, and I took off 1m by mistake. I wanted to be closer to 25% increase, rather than 30%, so I meant to go from 22m to 23. I've sent Reign a PM to have him fix it. Was an honest mistake.

$23mil, 30% of that is $6.9mil, so the highest option year would be $29.9mil...that is of course as long as i understand it correctly and didn't apply fuzzy math.

23/31 = 74%. That's how I've always understood the rule. If it's wrong then....I dunno. I gotta stop doing this shit at 3am

as for Paco, in real life he 100% doesnt sign that. a proven all star doesnt take a gap of like 10 million on a team option. I brought it up long ago, but its not watched over so it is what it is. Plus I believe it's within the parameters set, still ridiculous but thats why pencils have erasers.

I'm glad Bernie caught it. I usually do the same (check deals for accuracy). I just realize that I've been calculating it incorrectly the whole time. Been dividing largest guaranteed by option....should've been doing largest guaranteed x 1.3

I've PMed Reign, I'm fine with whatever he decides to do. It was an honest mistake, but it violates the rule and that's on me. I should've triple checked the accuracy of my math.

I'll look at the contract later.

Yes. Team option is 47% higher than any single non-option year. Limit is 30%.

Correct. Highest year x 1.3 will give you the max option year value. For a 31m option, quick math tells me 23.8m per, give or take.

As far as Cruz, nothing I signed him for was against any rules. I signed him to a 10-yr contract in 2011 as well. He can stay on as long as he wants, I was kind of hoping for him to be a Julio Franco and playing til he turns 47. Also I wanted to make sure he stayed on my team until he does retire. That was right around the time you were scooping up all old free agents in your "Project Fan Interest" or whatever you called it and I didn't want Cruz's legacy sullied.

Yes, and Gabe himself stated quite adamantly that you advancing that sim kept him from offering Paco Barron any contract. Thus, he would not be eligible for compensation, per our very discussion about this where I asked how we would verify that the player was made a "qualifying offer" for compensation. Looks like the game doesn't track it or require it.

Thus, he would not be eligible for compensation, per our very discussion about this where I asked how we would verify that the player was made a "qualifying offer" for compensation. Looks like the game doesn't track it or require it.

I checked the little box. He declined the one year qualifying offer. Game is working fine.

I was almost certain I read that if we sign a comp eligible guy, we don't lose draft picks any more, now I'm reading we do?

Also, where do we see if a guy is comp eligible? under "FA type" when looking at free agents, I see only 3 "Comp" guys in the entire FA pool. So, if Barron was comp eligible, how would we know that? Where do we find that info?

You still lose a draft pick. Top 10 picks are kept and a second rounder is lost instead.

Team losing a player no longer gets the teams pick and a sandwich pick. Now they only get a sandwich pick.

New rules reduce the amount of players that are compensation eligible.

You can look at the player at the bottom left - very clearly states the Free Agent type - Compensation - Look at Amaya

Thanks Gabe. I think that about clears it up. I guess i was looking in the right spot for comp eligible.

it looks like the 1st round pick just disappears for the signing team, as opposed to sending it to the team who lost the free agent. makes sense.
