WOW!!!!!!

Infield fly rule on a ball that surely didn't seem to be in the infield.

Yikes. I'll take it lol.

I don't know the actual rule on that, to be honest.

And now, chaos

Less than 2 outs, at least 1 runner on, a routine play in the infield/early outfield grass that the player should reasonably be able to make

That was in no way an infield fly.

80 feet into the outfield, and a VERY late call. This is a fucking joke.

The game is under protest and based on the rule stating it must be called "immediately", it has a decent chance.

Plus infield fly is called immediately not late like that was.

They are on the phone with the commissioners office in NY to get this back to where the protest began, the blown call.

This is awesome

Judging from the explanations I'm seeing, it sounds like it was infield fly, but the main issue was calling it late, it seems.

Yeah, its awesome to see one of the greatest careers possibly end earlier than it should thanks to one of the worst calls I've ever seen.

Don't think that's a routine infield flyball. Have to run a long way and that is the outfielders ball.

Ordinary effort, that was ordinary effort, nothing extra to it.

I don't know the rule on how deep the ball can be though.

Ridiculous on about five levels. How that call gets made with the ball 20ft from the ground is beyond me. Stupid fans, too.

Ordinary effort ain't running to left field for a flyball 100 ft. Just a bad call.

No rule about distance. It was more than ordinary effort, and it was nowhere near timely. Not IF on either level.

Nfl replacement refs thought that was bad.
