Top half pays, bottom half receives. Obviously if you're in the top half and you're under the average, you don't pay. And you can't receive more money than the average of you're under. You can look at the financials from last season on the website. Two teams did not receive or pay. They were in the top half but under the average. A few teams received less than the 18 mil payout. Those were in the bottom half but we're limited because they were so close to the average.

Unless my math is fuzzy, it looks like each of the 15 rev sharing teams should receive around $14.54 million, which is in range of what the rev sharing amount usually is.

I know explained it but it's probably better put to avoid confusion to say Above league average player/staff expense pays, bottom half receives.

Revenue Sharing - Luxury Tax - The league sets a "Soft Cap" as a % of the league average payroll, and a "Tax above Soft Cap" as a %. On the first day of the offseason, OOTP totals the payroll expenses of all teams in the league and averages them. It multiplies this number by the Soft Cap % to determine a cap figure. Any team that spent over this cap pays the "Tax above Soft Cap" into a revenue sharing pool. This pool is split equally between the bottom spending teams.

What's the %? Or is it variable?

Honest congrats to AJ and his Hawks for making the playoffs while being squarely in the bottom half of expenses

Should be the same every year. If no one knows it, Corey can get it from the settings. I'm guessing it's around 20% or so.

That being said, that would of course change the numbers we came up with.

So i'm more than likely not going to receive anything, but I shouldn't have to pay anything either? If so I just need like $8.5 mil in playoff revenue to get the $50 mil mark. Knock on wood.

Website shows revenue receiving teams are getting $18,057,104. Below is what the website is claiming for those receiving, paying, or doing nothing at all. I think you'll see that these numbers are clearly wrong. Must be based on current payroll or something.

Those receiving are:
Spoiler!
Albany
Charlotte
Chicago
Cookeville
Dillonvale
Houston
Las Vegas
Montreal
Moose Jaw
New England
Port Orange
Richmond
San Antonio
Tampa
Washington
Those paying as well as $ amount:
Spoiler!
Alabama - $-19,650,752
Boston - $-53,421,886
Hillsboro - $-27,413,936
Indianapolis - $-45,440,565
Los Angeles - $-5,147,012
Miami - $-12,542,616
Omaha - $-11,778,197
Philadelphia - $-9,412,702
San Francisco - $-29,957,639
Seattle - $-536,252
Sheltown - $-16,546,977
Toronto - $-35,830,938
Winterfell - $-3,177,088
Neither Paying Nor Receiving:
Spoiler!
Orange County
Steel City

Something that just dawned on me as well that I don't think is being figured into this but has to have some kind of impact is the amount of $$$ spent on IFA's after the draft. Ted is surely above and beyond on this!

different expense. This is International expense. I already paid 100% tax on what I spent. It would be a bit redundant if I paid ANOTHER tax on top of that.

I honestly can't remember what the % is. Corey will have to look.
If Reign is around, his RainMan ass can tell us. I know he remembers that kind of stuff.

It has to be as there's no chance it's already there for this season. Plus the numbers are way off too if you compare em to this season.

I'm not saying the numbers are correct. In fact, that's in my original post regarding all of this. I just don't buy that these are last seasons numbers.
