That's only like the third best goal he's ever scored.

Belgium's good AND they're young
Lukaku
Mertens
Witsel
Benteke
Kompany
....
So here's what the Belgian guys are up to. They are really good, and have been the team I'm following for the World Cup. I was also there in July, and it was a dream trip as I love Belgian Beer (and the Belgian women are nice too).
Defensive powerhouses: Courtois - The keeper for Real Fucking Madrid
Mignolet - The keeper for Liverpool
Kompany - Man City's captain (and Belgium's)
Vermaelen - Arsenal's captain
Vertonghen - Tottenham defender
Midfielder's doing it: Hazard - Chelsea's playmaker
Fellaini - My favourite hair, but one of my least favourite players. But he is physical and imposing (and that's more than the afro's shadow). But gets lots of cards too.
Mirallas - The other Belgian that was a nice combo in Everton's midfield before Fellaini got poached by Man U.
De Bruyne - Atttacking midfielder for Chelsea
Witsel - The other Afro in the midfield. Plays for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. (they just beat Porto in Portugal in the Champions League)
Forwards killing it: Lukaku - Is scoring like mad once he was the man for Everton, and out of Chelsea. And he scored two against Croatia who are always respectable.
Benteke - Hurt in the last month, but was leading the EPL forwards in fantasy points for the first few weeks, with Aston Villa. Villa were just crappy and good for 0-0 draws until Benteke showed up. He's on the mend now, and played last week. And I think played a few minutes for Belgium in their last game too.
Mertens - plays for Napoli on the wing. Napoli is in the same group as Borussia Dortmund (last year's Champions League runners up) and Arsenal (who are killing it in the EPL).

I'm really glad I found this part of the forum Thanks for starting it up jsence2. I watch so much more football (with the foot) than our football (with the arm) in the past few years.
Unfortunately I'm low on Belgian players. They are so expensive Which is good for them.

No fantasy league... but we have our own FIFA league.

Speaking of... Ibra got a IF card last week for FIFA 14. A lot of people were complaining today that it should have went to someone else.. apparently they do not know Zlatan! He is murdering Anderlecht right now.

Ronaldo is having a nice game right now as well... it's a shame that 1 of these 2 won't be playing in Brazil next year.

Ronaldo got 2 goals and got a Juve player sent off. Sounds like a hat trick to me.

Nesta is set to retire. One of the ten best defenders I've ever seen play, he and Maldini were rocks of that Milan back line for years.

I miss the Milan of old. Pirlo, Rino Gattuso, Nesta, Maldini, Seedorf, Kaka, SuperSheva, Ambrosini, Jaap Stam, SuperPippo Inzaghi....and that old fart Cafu

Got me to thinking about the ManU-Milan match in 2007, one of the three greatest matches I've ever seen. Kaka's second goal was one of the best individual efforts I've ever seen, and the ending of it had my nerves on end. Blatter and Platani called it the best Champions League match of the 2000s
I was actually rooting for Milan to go through since I knew it was probably Maldini's last chance, and I wanted them to get revenge on liverpool for 2005's screwjob
I miss gattuso. That Milan team you speak of was the first team I watched and made me start/keep watching soccer

I don't, the interwebs has it. But any fan of Gattuso or the Italian national team remembers that moment where you weren't sure if you should cringe or bust out laughing at him, because you know he didn't think twice about it

This premier league season looks interesting. ManU has looked bad, like mid table bad. Up top is Arsenal and Liverpool (who won't last). Relegation already looks like you can predict two of the teams... Crystal Palace and Sunderland are terrible... no idea how Sunderland got so bad

Mid table bad might be giving them too much credit. They looked complete disinterested for the first 60min today.

I'm not going to hype the game that Torres had, like the media is... he only had an assist and a goal thanks to Hart being a buffoon. With that said, all of this talk about him being a step slower or declining seems a bit premature. I've watch all of 3 Chelsea games this year and Torres is busting his butt. On the assist yesterday, he blew by Clichy, who is one of, if not the fastest LB in the PL. He's still got an explosive burst and you see it on his runs. I think people are way too caught up in his lack of scoring (mostly in league) and what seemed like a lack of effort at the beginning of the last PL season.
