This is just Vancouver 2.0.
- Suck for a long time, get talent in the minors
- Talent finally develops
- Win title
- Take on tons of salary in hopes of building something
...we know how this story ends.
With that said... they have hardware... so it does work.

We (me and work friends) had been going every year since it is a short drive from LA. After the 8th or 9th time of sitting on your ass for that long on Saturday, I'd had enough.shel311 wrote:What kind of monster are you!!!dakshdar wrote:but I had already gotten sick of the "sitting in a sports book for 13 hours on Saturday" Vegas plan
I couldn't even convince people to grab a meal together on Saturday night for that second trip. It definitely didn't help that Earl of Sandwich was 20 yards from the sports book.
On the plus side, there was no traffic driving back from Vegas to LA on a Saturday night.

Silva has some kind of internal mechanism that causes him to completely screw your team when it matters most. Myself and a few others found that out the hard way.

Not really. I beat Reign. So maybe Vancouver was Omaha 2.0 and now Winterfell is Omaha 3.0. At least Winterfell has sustained his success over the past couple of years whereas Vancouver and I couldn't keep it going.Uuaww wrote:yeah the key to that is to play me in the championship as well.ReignOnU wrote:nick wrote:It's been a mild winter.. looks like your AL reign (shoutout Cincy) is melting.

Re: 2038 Season - You've Got Crabs! (2/9)
damn, another year with 3 minor league titles. AAA, AA and A all brought em home. Last yr was AA, A, and SA. When the youth are constantly winning the majors will always be great.

also shoutout the people who still have my 8bit dudes as their avatars. I was really baked when I thought of that lol
this offseason might have a lot of graphics brought to the NDLB for awards and such. Maybe bring back Team of the Month next yr.

Ask Dave what Minor League championships translate to for the ML team...

I wanted to go look at history to compare, but it is gone for now. I agree. My problem was and is, I don't care to really learn the financials. I fought a battle of guys getting good before I could lock them up into manageable deals and the arbitration killed me. And then I went after blues and greens to try and keep the dream alive and boom, the blues and greens didn't perform like I hoped. But Omaha was 2 or 3 years relevant? Whereas Winterfell and Vancouver made a 5-7 year run? I can't remember my run, maybe 10 or 11 straight years of post season with 2 WS appearances? I don't remember.ReignOnU wrote:I don't think your club was anything like these 2.GeorgesGoons wrote:Not really. I beat Reign. So maybe Vancouver was Omaha 2.0 and now Winterfell is Omaha 3.0. A little longer than 2-3 years. Probably had 4 years straight of making the playoffs then 2 years off and then another 4 years. No history for me to check and OOTP is in the other tent so I can't check that out there.cougnix wrote:

But I agree about the financials piece. I really need to learn that. I've been saying that for at least 10 seasons and still haven't figured it out. I should do some research during my down time of flying.
