Kevin Turner was a solid Patriot.
That he was. He has Lou Gehrig's disease. Good documentary if you got time on his battle.
Watched it. He was one of my first favorite Pats after Eason.

a new regime came in this past offseason and they want their own players. Im guessing theyre giving up on Weeden after this year so having 2 1sts to spend on a new QB plus a player of their liking, and using a later pick on a HB, seems like a safer idea.

The Browns never have a fucking clue what they are doing. For example, they employ Seeit!!!

It's not necessarily a bad move now if the Browns feel he can't get it done. It's just that giving up on a top 5 pick already shows the ineptitude for taking him just a year ago. Didn't they also trade up for him? Just make it worse.
The Browns are covering their fuckup by allowing Indy the opportunity to do the same. You don't draft running backs in the Top 10 anymore, maybe not even Top 20. You draft QBs and linemen in this NFL.
Keep in mind that a completely different owner, president, gm, and coach drafted Trent. He wasn't "their guy". It wasn't their move, it was the hand they were dealt

Long line of Alabama busts at rb. Sure it's early but he will join the club.

He made his Minnesota pick before this hit the news. Now everyone is picking Minnesota

AJ... Still think the Browns offense is better than the Jags?

yes. the guy was averaging like 3.8 a carry. McGahee will do that.

Chud needs to infuse more Canes into that roster and Willis is a nice start.

Most of us in Ohio still associate McGahee with our National Championship and his horrible knee injury ;)

The amount of rage from Browns fans is pretty amazing. It also goes to show how shortsighted many people are.

I get a kick out of this guy... he does videos about the Browns and some video games... this worked out so well though... tons of bad language, so don't crank it in the office...

Being a Browns fan I didn't understand it at first, but then realized we already sucked with him there, so why not get another 1st round pick and load up

You understand it? Go ahead and rationalize it, I'm interested to hear it. Before doing so, let me point out a few things...
- In 17 games, he's averaged 3.5 ypc. Blame the offense, blame him... it doesn't matter... he would have averaged that this season too.
- The FO and staff have no commitment to any player that the previous regime brought in. They appear to be of the mindset that if the piece isn't part of the final puzzle, then they try to get value for it.
- TRich was selected 3rd by the previous group, the FO doesn't feel that he's the answer and they managed to get a 1st that should fall between 16-24 for him.

As a Browns fan, I have no problem saying that at his best, he was our 3rd best offensive player, at least based on what he's done. The difference that he makes on this team, would at most be a 6-10 season vs. a 2-14 season. The impact of his team would actually be a net negative, because it would move the team down in the draft. If you're going to lose, then freakin' lose and get it over with. Don't screw around and produce 6-10/7-9 seasons.

Honest question for when you reply... if he played this season and put up another season just like the last one... do you think the Browns still get a 1st for him in the off-season?

I wasnt specifically talking about this transaction but more along the lines of how shortsighted and quick triggered they are on any move that franchise makes.

How can you not understand why they can be so shortsighted and on edge with anything that team does?

You dont make one move and expect the fan base to be like, AWESOME!!

after the 89 other shitty moves and terrible way the franchise has been run over the years, its expected.

I suppose I expect at least a minimum amount of common sense and realistic expectations from people. Being as optimistic as possible, I put the team at 8-8/9-7 this season. My real expectation was 6-10... any fool that thought this was a 10 win team or potential playoff team was just out of touch with reality.

I do think most fans will come to terms with what is going on at some point. I wouldn't be shocked to see Gordon packing up soon as well. He's got baggage with him already, both with the drug program and his apparent disinterest during practice. I'm sure Dan could say more, but that's a pretty heavy rumor and usually that stuff bears some weight when it's that common.

Until the next new FO is brought in and they do away with all the picks gotten by the old FO?

This doesn't make any sense, really, IMO, or maybe I just don't understand it. Teams don't just go from 2-14, terrible, to getting 10 great players and being a perennial playoff team immediatley. You slowly build, and then 6-10 7-9 seasons are had with the idea that you are continually building your team so you get incrementally better and the 7 win season later turns into 9 or 10 win seasons.
