Old man rant, analytics are fucking stupid sometimes. World Series and your ace is mowing them down and you pull him at 71 pitches because of a single. Win or lose with your best guy.
Snell has 44 ip in 10 starts this year. It’s almost like Tampa knew what they were doing.
Also, like I said then... snell isn’t an ace and never was. Sorry I just saw a post on him and reminded me of the WS rant.

Most consecutive starts with no more than 1 ER to ever begin a season: deGrom - 10
Lowest ERA ever through first 10 starts: deGrom - 0.56
Fastest EVER to reach 100 Ks - 61.2 IP (broke the record that Bieber set last year with 62.1)
Best ERA EVER through first 10 starts (0.56)
Best WHIP EVER for a stretch of 10 starts (0.53)
He also has more RBIs this season than earned runs given up, 5-4.

I certainly don't follow much MLB these days, but from what i read is his spin rate is pretty much average and hasn't seen those impossible increases like we've seen for other dudes the past couple of years, it's been consistent.
But again, zero clue if that is actually the case.

After the minor league suspensions and MLB announcing they are going to start hammering guys Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer had their lowest spin rates in like 3-4 years in their next start. I don’t think DeGrom is doing it personally

More deGrom notes after a couple more starts:
12 straight starts with 1 ER or less (ML record)
0.5 ERA through first 12 games of season (ML record)
0.51 WHIP through first 12 games of season (ML record)
1st pitcher since 1901 with 110+ strikeouts and < 30 hits allowed in any 12 game span
Only pitcher in ML history to post 100+ strikeouts and < 0.6 ERA in a 12 game span
Through 11 starts (they haven't updated it yet for tonight) had an ERA+ of 724.

Those new Seattle hockey jerseys and logo moved into the top 5 for me when I saw them.
Unrelated but related.
