Yeah, apparently it was the 50/50 mix, which I imagine is a cheaper option and would likely have been fine if it wasnt -20 out. Bought it in June, so it was the previous owner who did it. Its in the shop now getting thawed out, theyll drain it and replace and check for any other damage. I hope thats all it is at this point

Cleveland broke a record with -11 this morning actual temp, not wind chill.
Previous record was -7 set in 1884.

Crazy stuff.

And Corey, no biggie about laughing, we have power and are warm and everything is good.

I just feel bad, there are still over 10,000's of people without gas, which means no heat, since 9 PM last night.
They are on the west side of Cleveland in North Ridgeville and Elyria areas.
I'm only 50 miles south. We expected a slow day at work. Unfortunately we had a very busy day. We were on EMS runs every hour on the hour from 11p til 5a. Nothing what I would call serious emergency type runs. It was almost like these people were worried of the cold even though they had very warm homes, that they thought they would be better off at the hospital. Crazy....I would never complain about a call, cause what I think is an emergency is no where near what others would, but when its -40 outside you almost want to remind these folks that your ear ache isn't a reason to call 911. Thankfully no fires, but I know some friends throughout the state weren't so lucky, Let me tell you, the guy running the Engine during cold weather opps is the most important person on the fire ground, very easy to freeze up a pumper truck with tempts at -40.

JD, seen your post at 4am...glad to hear it wasn't too long.....wife took a shower at 2pm today before work. She told me the drain wasn't working....agh....I set up a heater in the bathroom. About 330 I heard some weird not normal noises from the kitchen. Whatever was causing the blockage passed (ice or a toy...) water went right down....lol

I know this winter has been as bad as most can remember, and the last couple winters here in MI have been pretty mild, but if the winters more like this more often Id be looking to GTFOutta here asap. The inside of my fucking windshield was frosted, the inside!

I have no idea, I just know Ive never experienced a winter with this combination of brutal cold and persistent snowfall (most cities in the area have already surpassed their yearly averages). Im stuck here for at least a couple more years for residency, but if theres another winter or two like this in the meantime Im gettin' out!

That being said, like I mentioned before, the last couple winters previous were cake. I mean, I don't think we saw single digits, let alone the negative teens we're seeing now. I also shoveled my driveway probably 6 times total the previous two winters combined. Its like we've gone from one extreme to the other, and I just don't like this side of it so much

Funny you should say that since we are all complaining/confused about how LITTLE snowfall despite how extremely fucking cold it has been. This is not normal winter for us on the Atlantic.

Oh, and by the way, I attended the Devils/Rangers game at Yankee Stadium. I left the game in the middle of the second period because my feet were in severe pain. It was ungodly cold in the Stadium. And this was on Sunday afternoon ... the Rangers are playing the Islanders tomorrow night and it says it is going to be ten degrees with 50% humidity and 15 mph winds. That is fucking dangerous.

Go Isles!

Sunday night/Monday morning, between midnight and 3AM the temperature dropped from 18 to -6 and we had 40-50 mph wins. It sounded like a tornado outside. And of course the power went out too. The temperature in the house dropped 14 degrees in that time.

I believe it. I don't know the situation last night, but we closed 3 of our stores in Indiana due to "Red Level 3" driving limitations. I'm not sure if that was snow or wind/temp based.

I live in an area that is about 10min, through fields/woods, to most other cities. The city does a great job of keeping the roads clear, but Saturday there were tons of issues with the connecting roads because of how fast the wind was coming across them and the snow couldn't be removed because it kept drifting back over them.
