While a terrible tattoo choice, the Ward pic looks really good.

I am amped for next season, but with Jays luck they'll all get injured or under achieve.

I'd love to hear AJs opinion of the Jays now though

they arent a lock for the playoffs if you ask me. of course they are improved.

melky is their best signing. reyes is good too.

I dont sweat the staff too much.

Dickey should be good, but last year was the 1st time he was good. I personally think he will sustain it, but its hardly a lock. let be honest, he and Johnson are pitching in the AL for the 1st time. big difference.

dickey has been great for 3 years by the way.

never understood the AL argument. its not like he throws a 99 fastball.. he throws an 85MPH knuckle lol. AL batters are not gonna fair any better against the pitch. Theyve done studies on it and when he throws his knuckle between 85-90mph its almost unhittable. its too random for batters to pick up.

cant fucking wait

the AL verse NL argument is pretty easy to understand. in the AL you have to pitch verse lineups that are 7 or 8 deep night in and night out and even the shitty hitters arent sure outs. in the NL its generally 6 or 7 deep with one sure out and another probably defensive specialist type guy

thus, a good ERA in the NL might be 3.00 and in the AL maybe 3.50

also its not easy to throw 85 forever. i know its a knuckleball. but a guy who throws a wakefield type knuckleball (low 70's) and a dickey knuckleball are 2 different guys. wakefield could probably pitch 5 times a week with relative ease while dickey would probably be 3.

just saying, if he cant sustain 85 mph, is he as effective?

legit question

RA Dickey doesnt have a UCL in his arm... dunno what that means but he cant tear it and its a key muscle that gets torn by pitchers.

plus, it doesnt matter how good a batter is, a 85-90MPH pitch comes in at a certain speed (i think its under 1 second) so u have that reaction time, added that when they watched pitchers who throw x pitch sayt a fastball.. for the most part they hit one portion of the map. Well with Dickeys knuckle its so random it sprays the entire chart

im watching this now lol

when you throw a normal fastball it does 11 rotations, when dickey throws a knuckle it has 1.5, so a fastball is able to cut through the air and not have as much movement, meanwhile the wind can grab the knuckle andmove it around, making it random and unpredictable, at such a high speed, means even the best AL hitters will struggle.

do you even know what youre talking about?

its an overpowering/tough to hit if he can keep throwing it 85+

if he cant, he'll be hit or miss like every other knuckleballer

are you explaining to me how a knuckleball works? stop going to wikipedia or whatever.

most of us knew how a knuckleball worked when we were 10
