Re: Twist OD - Y3 Week 5 (5/31)
Oregon gets going after a slow start vs SMU. There was a stretch where the Ducks scored on 4 consecutive offensive plays. (10 yard screen to Tyner, a 57 yard shovel pass to Tyner, a 36 yard run by Marshall, and a 64 yard run by Tyner) Mariotta was on the bench after just one 4th quarter play.
The defense did struggle allowing 394 in the air and 118 on the ground. Luckily they were able to get 2 interceptions which turned into 14 points for the Ducks. Next up is Florida who will be looking to certainly avenge last seasons close loss to the Ducks.

Re: Twist OD - Y3 Week 5 (5/31)
I'm all for making some changes to make the game play better. The only difficulty I have with making the changes is you have guys like pengy on one end who are shutting out the CPU and then people like me who are not very good. We have to have a happy medium on the settings so that everyone enjoys playing.Hart4Heisman wrote: Not pushing for anything to be changed, just some healthy conversation.
If you do have some recommendations though we can try them for one of the weeks, as long as everyone agrees. If they work we'll keep them.

+1Hart4Heisman wrote:I like these because they are the same for user and for the cpu. It took me a few games to get used to them but I'm loving them. There's no more robo qb, and the the run game is very difficult for both teams
im easy though, the way things are is great
Re: Twist OD - Y3 Week 5 (5/31)
started my game earlier today then somehow my breaker flipped. I was up 28-7 early in the 2nd quarter vs Iowa State . . . here comes take 2

Like your attitude. Need more like you.Hart4Heisman wrote:well, im new to this OD so i have no business coming in and saying things need to be changed really. Not that that is what i was doing anyways, we got talking about our game and outside sliders got brought up.
furthermore, i joined this OD to have fun, so if that means I supersim Defense in this league, so be it. It makes zero difference to me whether its Heisman or if it is Freshman, it only changes how much of the game I play. I'm perfectly okay with playing only offense here in non-user games.
thats what i meant by "the way things are are great"

In all seriousness, I am the same way. sliders or no sliders I just want to play some football and home some fun games and banter.

Re: Twist OD - Y3 Week 5 (5/31)
I guess I misunderstood you as well then.
I'm all for changes to make the game better for everyone. I don't care how long you've been in the OD.
In my opinion, the user offense is way way way to easy. It gets old seeing everyone putting up 50 to 60 points on the CPU. Usually though I just see people complain about how hard the defense is. We can make defensive changes but there will be offensive changes that go with it. Typically that's where I start running into resistance. Can't have one without the other IMO.
I would love for everyone to go into their games concerned about losing instead of knowing they're going to blow out the CPU.
So again, as I stated earlier - and this is for everyone -, give me a set of sliders that you think will work and we'll give them a try.

I'm all for it being harder on offense. At this point I'm trying to never us the same play twice in any CPU games, makes it a bit more challenging sometimes.

Re: Twist OD - Y3 Week 5 (5/31)
In my last game I was up 35-10 on the road at then #16 Wisconsin. My defense is actually what gave me the big lead for the change. Once I got them out of their dominant run game, they had to pass. I picked them off, and scored the very next play. The next time they passed, they threw another pick, and I returned it for a TD. The game was very close to that point, and they outscored me in the 2nd half. I thought it was pretty even, although Melvin Gordon would break an avg of 3 tackles per play, and would just push away my DL and LB like they were tackling dummies.

Hart, are your sliders the one's you posted a few pages back? If not post them for me, if so I'll go grab those.
If no one has any objections I'll make the slider changes before advancing us and we can give his a try for the next weeks advance.
