Re: Random Discussions
unfortunately, nothing will ever change. Today George Floyd, tomorrow another random black man. There needs to be some serious vetting when it comes to hiring cops. More mental aptitude tests, psychology exams with routine testing, everyone has a partner and it rotates so you don't become complacent with what you can do with your partner.

Re: Random Discussions
who wants to go through that for a thankless job and shit pay?GeorgesGoons wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 4:11 pm There needs to be some serious vetting when it comes to hiring cops. sounds like most public service jobs.
society wants wants wants......but don't want to pony up. like most things in life you get what you pay for

Re: Random Discussions
i was telling my coworker i couldnt possibly be a cop. theyre shit but they get shit on.
one of my first shifts at this school i had a parent (drunk on property) try to berate me for something so simple (you cant have ur kid on this giant storage section and you had to be out by 8). He spazzes. goes home, comes back and goes "the email does say 8.. but im gonna complain about you for being rude"
I go "Ok" and he turns around and goes "what did u say?" ahahahhahaha man.. in retrospect.. but ya im like ??? and he left.
thankfully for the Principal was like "eh hes a drunk" so I didnt get in any trouble.
Imagine being a cop? Must be ass. That said do better.
What sucks most about public sector is everyone thinks their tax dollars pay this significant portion of my salary.. weird part is I pay taxes too and since im making more than them usually I am paying myself in taxes more than their taxes would pay me. Oh well... back to learning how to dribble with my left.

Re: Random Discussions
You've never been so you couldn't. Ask anyone else that has done it and they would say it was the worst of times but the best as well. The bond you have with the guys to your left and right is something you'd never understand until you have hell reigning down on you and you are making love to mother earth looking at your buddy and just throw out a nervous smile. When it's all over it's better than any high you've ever been on, better than any girl you've ever been with. You would never understand unless you had that "fun"

HBO Max is pretty damn awesome.
More content then Netflix and Disney+ is what I read and a great selection.
Wife just cares that it has Friends and she can watch it through for the 37th time.

I've got YoutubeTV and they are offering a trial. I just assumed it was typical "HBO." I'll have to check it out.

This reminds me of an ex I had when I was back in NYC, probably like 2005ish. I remember just making enough money I could buy DVD sets and being so proud we had every season of friends (for her, I didn’t really give a shit). Amazing how cool it was to own DVD’s at one point and then they all became frisbees

Re: Random Discussions
I learned the hard lesson today about going into comment sections on tmz that pertain to Colin kaepernick. Never again. Those ppl can’t be saved.

Drunken fun from our weekend trip. Wife has had a taser in her purse for a couple of years so we decided to pull it out and try it.

A 311 angle to the protests.
A white Omaha(where 311 is from) bar owner(bar called The Hive which is a 311 song title) shot a black protestor/looter and killed him a couple of days ago.
Allegedly, the looter damaged his property, a skirmish took place outside, the shooter fired 2 warning shots during the fight. The person who died kept choking him, so he shot and killed him.
Good luck Omaha!!!

Re: Random Discussions
I posted in the political thread regarding this. I'll have to find the video of the whole thing. After reading the comments from the press conference I now believe we have some of the dumbest 20-30 year olds in the nation. One post literally said, "he jumped on his back to disarm him"shel311 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 4:18 pm A 311 angle to the protests.

People that knew the kid said he was a good kid and would have done no wrong. He was videoed in a building where someone (or him) broke the windows. They have him on video vandalizing a business right next to where he was shot and killed. Just to be clear, I am not saying since he was vandalizing he deserved to be shot. But once he jumped on the dudes back and started choking him, 100% it was justifiable. This was right after 2 guys jumped the bar owner and he fired his 2 warning shots that you reference.
