He will be able to make a living off of his persona forever. Johnny Rodgers has been living off his in Nebraska for 50 years now.
So basically, everyone gets to bask in the 10s of millions of dollars his presence generated, except for him. And he has to use other means to make his money(but not as long as he's playing on the team)?

Not another year of a tutor and nutritionist. :)
if i had entered into an agreement i could either stick with it for my time there until my contract is up or i can move on and try to make it elsewhere.

again, he knew what the agreement was when he signed up. nobody is getting swindled here.

If he gets hurt, he gets to continue his free education and join the real world like normal people.

Exactly, that's my point.

Meanwhile, after he gets hurt, the university gets to reap the benefits of the $36mil he brought in while you know the coach will as well as he's likely to get a nice raise.

there are other things in life besides football. if he wants to be a professional football player/get a free education, right now, this is the path for that

his other choice is to be something else

Let me ask you this to see where I'm going with my answer, why do you think those Rutgers kids did absolutely nothing, and stood there and took the humiliation from Mike Rice?

Why was he on a power trip? Because he could, because in order to play basketball, these kids have no alternative.

i don't get the mike rice comparison at all.

so you're saying if the kids each made 15k a year that wouldn't have happened?

and where does it end? does Manziel make more or everyone a flat rate?

tell you what. intead of my idea of training type places for 3 years, lets approach all NAIA schools who have football teams and invite them to join the NACA (National Athletic Collegiate Association). We have a new set of rules. All our guys make 25 K per season and a 50K bonus if they graduate.

They have to also maintain grades in order to recieve money.

Whoever doesnt have the BCS, we'll approach them to see if they will put us on. We could give a shit about your SAT score. we're about 2.0's and passing. thats it.

come play for us!

After the last Riccio post, he can no longer be trusted in debates.

I work alone now. I may even have a "Decision" show and take my talents to a new team, we'll see. I don't know.
