The celebration was subdued. A few high fives. Nothing too extraordinary. We expected to make the playoffs. The Caucs have bigger fish to fry in the next two weeks and the postseason.

I'd expect nothing less at AFF.com Field.

Playoffs now out of reach, Sheltown will set its sights on breaking the all time pythag record of - 14.
Went down to -11 and the record seems out of reach for now!!!

Boston manager Jeff Ruffin used to be the Minuteman pitching coach before his promotion to manager.
He is hoping to resurrect the career of the former #1 prospect in the NDL at a ripe age of only 27 still. A great outing against Sheltown was a good start and he will hit the 6th spot in the rotation to give the other arms some rest heading into the postseason run.
5-0 3.32ERA 54Ks in 43IP but that 1.36WHIP and 6.2BB/9 is ewwwww
Getting about 5 runs per game in run support.
Nice project 6th starter to keep the rest of the arms fresh and see where we go in the offseason.

283/313/397, 1.7 WAR, 95 OPS+ in 75 games reflect that of someone who has a 20 pot in SA ball. Damn, Shel was right about inflated minor league numbers...

My scout has him 55 with meh bat so not as bad as OSA. Even if he was my prospect I do not believe in any person who is blue by a scout and 20/20 per OSA, seems they just fail but I am sure there are few exceptions

Nick still thinks our AAA numbers mirror that of the PCL in real life.
He really has his pulse on all things minor leagues.

its probably more to do with the fact that we have major league talent in our AAA systems.
for example, a 50 rating is an every day MLB player, yet I see 60 rated players in AAA. That would 0% happen in real life. So when you have 30 teams with major talent in AAA, it's gonna skew the numbers a tad.

Not a bad theory, but why does it trend to dominant offenses only?
My scout shows 15 batters rated 50 or above in AAA, and 29 starting pitchers rated 50 and above.
1 more thing, when I first brought up the issue, I showed a few examples just from my team of maybe 4 guys in recent years who had worst numbers in AAA than they did in the majors. They were all journeymen, 28 year old types, so they had decent sample sizes, weren't quite good enough for the MLB, but pitched better at the higher level, with the main difference being HR/9 so high in AAA.
