NFL Thread
Re: NFL Thread
I read it.
I dont have any issue with any of it. However, guys are saying differently when they sue the league. Thats all i'm really getting at. The league has to at least give the appearance they are trying to prevent head injuries (even if in actuality that isnt what is causing the majority of the concussions)
Juries are dumb

Then the problem will never go away, the rules will get worse, and nothing will get accomplished. You might even be able to argue that the problem will get worse.ajalves wrote:I read it.

Re: NFL Thread
So nobody else noticed the silly NFL rule that turned a 3rd or 4th and forever for the Patriots into a 1st and 10?

Nearly every penalty I saw today was ticky-tack or absurd. The batted ball penalty on the Dolphins was the latter.LetsGoPeay wrote:So nobody else noticed the silly NFL rule that turned a 3rd or 4th and forever for the Patriots into a 1st and 10?

Meriweather is still the man. Unfairly labeled as dirty, he is now firing back with some (true) gems.
"I guess I just got to take people's knees out," Meriweather said Monday morning in the Redskins' locker room. "That's the only way. I would hate to end a guy's career over a rule, but I guess it's better other people than me getting suspended for longer.
He feels like I need to be kicked out of the league. I feel like people who beat their girlfriends should be kicked out of the league, too. ... You tell me who you'd rather have? Someone who plays aggressive on the field or someone who beat up their girlfriend?"
”

Bravo Brandon!
Those were good.

Re: NFL Thread
So, I always say that wide receiver is the only position in sports where you can say, "This player is the greatest and nobody is even close." That, of course, is Jerry Rice. What year am I going to have to scratch that statement because of Calvin Johnson?

Johnson is to WRs as Lebron is to basketball. He's the best ever... and has been for awhile. Numbers be damned.

You can't just be the "best ever", you gotta produce!ReignOnU wrote:Johnson is to WRs as Lebron is to basketball. He's the best ever... and has been for awhile. Numbers be damned.
He's getting there, but he still has to put up the numbers.
