By the way, if it ends up Pac-16 and (new) Big 12/14/16 ... I really have no fucking idea how to not avoid a playoff.

That's what makes me weep about this whole thing.

Cause I think it'll end up being a 16 team playoff. The money is too much too avoid. And that would suck royally.

Baylor can't be a real player in this, as they are a parochial school, but if legislators can affect this being that Tech, aTm & Texas are all state schools then that report may be correct.
i read a funny thing about baylor and their hand in all of this. they want to stay with the south as they move to the pac 10, but some schools, uc-berkley mentioned specifically, were uneasy with having a religious school come to their conference. the irony of tolerance. :D

truth be told, baylor would be the oddest one of the bunch. they're fighing hard because they just don't want their revenues to drop. colorado would seem to be the more attractive choice.

as to the playoff angle, it seems to me that if there was a playoff already in place, much of this realignment talk would be unneccessary. they've been throwing out the $700 million plus money number for a playoff. money talks. oh, but those academics are important, too.

I don't think it has anything to do with religion so much as their leaders. Terps was offering his thoughts on the Catholic Mafia in the Big East recently.

Now comes reports that the SEC is going after Texas A&M

this has to be the most fucked up summer in college sports ever ... I bet at least 25 major schools could be changing conferences over the next month. (that includes the entire Big 12).

Also reports that Colorado will officially join the PAC 10 tomorrow.

Who knows any more, lol.

Nebraska Board of Regents in a preliminary vote, voted to move to the Big 10. Of course this was coming from an unnamed source. The Board of Regents will actually meet Friday to discuss it. Looks more and more like Nebraska will be moving to the Big 10 as long as they get invited.

Will make the Texas @ Nebraska game this year fun to watch.

CU looks to be next. With Nebraska going there is no reason that anybody is going to stay. The Big 12 is heading towards extinction.

So left behind in the mess is Baylor, Kansas, Kansas St, and Iowa St?

How do they not pull Houston, TCU, Utah, BYU, Air Force, Tulsa, Boise, and Nevada together to make a "best of the rest" conference? Hell, they could go to 16 if they wanted to take some teams like SMU, Fresno, Troy, and some 16th school.

Couldn't you squeeze one BCS bid out of the NCAA for a conference like that?

All I can say as a Nebraska fan is that it feels good to be the team that basically decides the fate of the conference instead of seemingly being left behind scrambling for a place to go.

I am glad that Nebraska is going to come to the Big Ten. I have heard nothing but great things about their fans and how nice they are no matter what. I think that the Big Ten only adds Nebraska for now if ND doesn't join. If ND joins then they will take Mizzou and three teams from the Big East. It will be interesting to see how it goes in the next few weeks.

I have seen four Nebraska losses live and I assure you I conducted myself with dignity. Unlike Hoos.
