I ve been pretty lucky with KeyBank, over the years I ve had two episodes. I only have a debit card that I always say credit when I use it. Anyhow, both times Ive had a problem, my bank has put a hold on the card and called me. Each time saying irregular spending, or purchases overseas or out of state. Each time they were right on and I was credited the money lost and what not.

Changes to sign-in are also possible.
Neil Martin, a database security engineer expert, has told NowGamer that he expects PSN to be back up on Wednesday.
He claims that the service will be back at some point within a week at the latest, even as early as Wednesday considering the time and staff already working on fixing the issues.
“The only change the consumer may see is to the way we log in to PSN.”
"The main thing Sony will be doing now is taking the original server code and they will be rebuilding it using new login keys for their admin side," he said.
Discussing these changes, Martin claims Sony "will probably take the chance to change the developers root key that was recently leaked, which tellls the PSN that a particular piece of software is licensed and allowed to use the PlayStation Network."
"This could mean all previous software will require a patch when it comes back online," Martin continues, "but inconvenience like that will be secondary to the loss of revenue via piracy and loss of security if they don't change it."
Martin then clarifies possible changes to the service, "the only change the consumer may see is to the way we log in to PSN."
"Automated logins may be disabled, which is what a lot of the Distributed Denial of Service attack programs use to strain the servers."
The PSN service is in its seventh day offline, with still no news from Sony regarding when the network will be back on.

Wow.
Meanwhile, World of Warcraft was having some major issues earlier today - nothing worked and everything was crashing - and they fixed it in four hours.
Not a very fair comparison. WoW was related to release of their 4.1 content patch, not external intrusion. With that said, Blizzard's track record for uptime on WoW has been sensational over the last few years, considering the amount of content changes involved and massive transitions they have made.

More BS from PS. Call me simple, I have a 4 year degree from UTK, 2 kids, a wife, 2 dogs, etc..... Now, If someone breaks in to my house, first thing I would do is call the police and wait for them to check house to make sure no one is still in there. The next thing after that is to see whats missing. You mean to tell me, almost 7 days after the fact, Sony is just now realizing shit has been stolen? You would think after they realized there was a breach they would immediately check to see how severe a breach it was and see if consumer data was compromised. Bullshit assholes covered their ass those first 4 days until they let us know that there was a hack, used terms such as external intrusion, etc... and were not honest with us. It is mind bottling the mishandling of a bad situation. Will be very interesting the heads that will roll at sony, the hacker himself, and when the first class action lawsuit will pop-up. Does anyone really believe it took them 7 days to find out that customer info was potentially stolen?
Clarifying a Few PSN Points
+ Posted by Patrick Seybold // Sr. Director, Corporate Communications & Social Media
I wanted to take this opporuntity to clarify a point and answer one of the most frequently asked questions today.
There’s a difference in timing between when we identified there was an intrusion and when we learned of consumers’ data being compromised. We learned there was an intrusion April 19th and subsequently shut the services down. We then brought in outside experts to help us learn how the intrusion occurred and to conduct an investigation to determine the nature and scope of the incident. It was necessary to conduct several days of forensic analysis, and it took our experts until yesterday to understand the scope of the breach. We then shared that information with our consumers and announced it publicly this afternoon.
For those who were looking there’s also an FAQ with some more frequently asked questions
Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Comparing your house getting robbed to a network getting hacked is apples to oranges. This was a very skilled hack job and it probably did take a while to determine what the hacker(s) had compromised. It really is forensics work.

Hoos, really? If someone hacks in to a system, what did sony think they were going for? Their top priority should have been consumer protection and call me stupid to think it takes a company the size of Sony less than 7 days with their resources to discover.

I still think it is humorous that people want to be pissed at Sony. Nobody here KNOWS all the details. The only people that have a gripe, in my opinion, are the Playstation Plus accounts (like me).
And I will be pissed IF something happens, but I haven't been careless with my accounts and passwords like most everyone that still has their password as "123456"

I'm not sure what you are getting at. It may have taken Sony a while to notify the public of it's findings but that doesn't mean they hadn't already notified CC vendors.
I'm really not even sure why this hack is such a cause for alarm. Microsoft, VISA, mastercard, and countless others have been hacked before.
CC vendors have gotten a lot of practice when it comes to handling these types of things. Identity theft isn't the horror story that it use to be.
Obviously, there will be post-investigations into Sony's handling of the situation.

I went ahead and called my CC company. They were aware of the problem and shut off my current card and are mailing a new one. The whole thing took 5 minutes.
